Cortez’s politics or her social media over sharing, her policy preferences are no different from those of the majority of Democrats. Her views are not extreme among Democrats.

    That’s simply not true.

I know that’s the conservative narrative, but it doesn’t match reality. She is considered an extremist in Democratic circles and there are a lot of Democrats who don’t appreciate that AOC is out front and representing them.

I don’t think it’s the conservative narrative. The conservative narrative is that the left wing position is to build an absurdly expensive 500 mile stretch of high speed rail over 25 years. The AOC position is to have 20,000 miles over 10 years and end travel abroad or to Hawaii (and people think Trump and Johnson are isolationist!).

If you’re a teenage libertarian, perhaps in an adult body (and I should be clear that I’m not talking about Fred here), there’s a temptation to say that all statists are the same on the basis that a ten percent tax and a ninety are fundamentally just equivalent theft. The suggestion that AOC’s position is the same as Pelosi’s is pretty similar, just a notch towards reality.
