Sinema Defeats McSally in Narrow Arizona Senate Race

Rep. Martha McSally (R) has conceded the US Senate race in Arizona to Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D). Shortly before the concession, the Associated Press projected that Sinema would emerge victorious.

McSally had lead the vote count throughout Election Day, but lost that lead as mail-in ballots were counted in the days after. The updated vote counts were posted at 5 PM local time, showing that Sinema had further expanded her lead to a nearly insurmountable 1.72 percent.

By contrast, the Republican Party has been destroyed in California after Republican Pete Wilson promoted Proposition 187.

Prop 187.  That would be the one that *passed* 58.9% to 41.1%?

Reagan only got 57.5% of the vote in California in the 1984 landslide.

I won three $10 bets with my fellow Ricochetti that the Dems would take the House year.

Our bet gets settled when the congress is gaveled into session. Don’t count your chickens.

You are right.  (I was not going to identify you publically, you did so on your own.)

Having a Democrat Governor would not, per se, be a check on Trump. But having a Democrat Senator would be a check.

How does the minimal effect of one Senator justify electing a tutu- wearing Democrat over a laudable, qualified female vet?  The bottom line is that Republicans who voted for Ducey and Sinema are the real problems here.  There’s really no need for speculation about a Trump effect when the answer seems pretty obvious.

What I find hilarious is the guys that talked unstoppingly about voting for Democrats to “send a message” seem to be upset that the voters elected a Democrat to “sent a message” to Trump. You folk should be having a party. You got your way. Hope you love living it for a few years.

BTW-Trump did not vote in the election. You folk did.

I have never suggested voting for Democrats, I have several times told Gary I think that is counterproductive. I’ve also said that outside of Ricochet and conservative echo chambers Trump is toxic, vast numbers of people are ashamed that he’s our President, and I’ve been sniffed at. Moderates, independents and small c conservative women did not like Trump saying Megyn Kelly had blood coming out of her whatever, and they punished Martha McSally for it. Now that we have empirical proof some try to spin it as an anti-McCain vote. There is no hope. People believe what they want to believe.

Trump deserves his office, big time. He is the only remotely-conservative person who fights back against the Democrat garbage that is flung in his direction all day, every day. Trump is worth every vote, and every attendee at his sold-out rallies. He is not going to be defeated in 2020. NO other Republican, not even one other, can win the way Donald J. Trump can win in 2020. If any other Republican would be nominated instead of Donald J. Trump, we will have lost our country, and we will bear the consequences for generations. No other Republican has the guts to respond in kind to the hostile Media who are the real opponents of sane, conservative government.

“Never-Trumpers”, be very careful what you wish for.

Preach it, sister!  Who else in the large field of candidates could’ve taken the abuse, vitriol, hatred, and lies thrown at them day in and day out?  Kasich?  Please, the day after his inauguration, he would’ve rolled up into a quivering mass, sucking his thumb.  Bush?  He would’ve moved Schumer into the office next to the Oval Office, and checked with him hourly on if he was doing ok.

No, Trump is not perfect—he has feet of clay. as we all do.  But, he is what the voters chose, and he has proven himself, time and time again, to have been the best choice.  We only have HRC in our nightmares, not in the White House.  Does anyone think there will be enough of her left to actually attempt another run at being President in 2020?

I will gladly vote for Mr. Trump, should he decide to run again.  His determined stand for Kavanaugh, moving the embassy to Israel, choosing Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, his many stellar appointments to the lower courts, withdrawing from the Iran ‘deal’, leaving the Paris climate accord, staring down the heads of Europe on NATO—there is so much more we wouldn’t have now without Trump.  S0—suck it up, buttercups!
