Gruesome and Effective
We live, let’s face it, in a world made up of weasel-words and euphemisms. All around us, there are softly-worded warnings and soothing messages — “contents may be hot” — and safety videos treating us like morons. (I mean, do we really need to see how the seatbelt works on an airplane?)
So it’s a refreshing change to see the safety videos now on display for the Los Angeles Metro. Here’s one that I particularly like:

A couple, actually.
EJ. Sad. Tough way to go out.
Nice graphics btw.
Reminds me of the Xiao Xiao series. Ha.
I like them, but I would have liked it even better if the cop had just stuck out his arm and clotheslined Jimmy as he skated by. Not only effective policing, but as it turned out it would have saved Jimmy’s life. #skateboarderlivesmatter
I look forward to the video that advises you to keep your head and shoulders low when battling Keanu Reeves on top of a moving car. Call it “Speed or Splat”? “Taller or Terminated”?
Better to die in a horrible subway accident than to pollute our precious world by driving your SUV.
I hope I’m allowed a smidgeon of family pride, as a nephew of mine (who majored in computer animation) was part of the team that produced these delightful vignettes.
