   After two years in southern Taiwan wondering why there was a never a Ricochet meetup there, we’re back in the USA and very excited to attend our first community event.  Count us in!

   Having not been to a meetup before, I don’t know how this decision is made, but I would nominate The Hamilton on 14th and F as a location.  Big place, big bar, big tables, for big kids like us.  Food’s good and not too expensive.

   Kinda bummed … I was seriously thinking about driving up from NC for this, because I didn’t want to miss a chance to meet Rob Long and James Lileks. (Oh, and any other Ricochetti who will be present.) Unfortunately, I’ve ended up with a class scheduled for that week so I can’t get away. I hope this won’t be the last such opportunity!

    I don’t eat anyway (the whole “Jew” thing). I am in favor of anyplace with little or no background noise: we are coming to talk to each other, not try to make ourselves heard in a loud place.

    VERY IMPORTANT:  the Redskins are playing the Cowboys in Dallas on Monday Night Football.  It might get a little raucous.
