Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl; Ambassador Christopher Stevens
We went back for one of them. We spent money and lives — some say 14 American servicemen were lost in the rescue attempts — and we freed five psychopaths who remain devoted to killing Americans, all to “bring back one of our own.”
The other one, a United States ambassador, we left to die at the hands of terrorists. But what difference, at this point, does it make? I mean, dude, that was like two years ago.
The most meretricious administration in modern history continues apace.

If Obama had a son, would he think like Bowe Bergdahl?
I have said for as long as anyone would listen that being president is exactly like being a parent. There’s a limit to how much good you can do, but the damage you can wreak knows no bounds. I fear we have not seen the worse this guy can do as president.
This whole situation is smelling less and less like a blunder and more and more like someone trying to make a point. Unfortunately for the President, no one believes him when he tries to go out and sell this claptrap as good policy. It’s a bit like PT Barnum selling cans of white salmon to you; after the 4th or 5th can of pink salmon, you no longer believe the white salmon exists. We have been lied to, misdirected and dismissed for so long that we now dismiss the President as irrelevant. The problem for the citizenry is that the world is doing the same thing. If the US is no longer relevant or to be relied upon, the world gets much nastier & more dangerous. Obama will leave office; we’re the ones left with the mess he will leave behind.
“Ideological venality.” Perfectly put.
