Charlotte Meetup! — D.C. McAllister
Ricochet at Ri Ra Irish Pub in Charlotte (above photo). From left to right: D.C. McAllister, Troy Senik, Fred Cole, Marty (Blondie’s husband), Barbara (Stad’s wife), Stad, La Tapada and her husband, Jim, Blondie, Frank Soto, Michael McAllister (D.C.’s husband), Eeyore, and Terry.
D.C. McAllister listening to Raconteur explain what it means to be a Zen Calvinist. Kinda cool.
Troy Senik–Mr. GQ and poster boy for Ricochet to lure in all the ladies.
Frank Soto, Fred Cole, and D.C.: “Okay, boys, this is what we’re going to do…..”
KatyAnne’s husband Justin, Stad (holding the phone), Matthew Gilley looking at his phone, Concretevol in the hat talking to Troy.
D.C. and 6foot2inhighheels enjoying the moment. Awww.
Matthew, D.C., KatyAnne, and Troy.
D.C., Frank, Fred, Stad, and Blondie’s husband getting ready to do a midnight podcast.
Lucy Pevensie, Troy, and Raconteur. It’s all about sharing the love.
Fred Cole with his giraffe named Troy. Oh yeah!
Frank: “Do not take my picture.”
The gang at Ri Ra Irish Pub with the addition of Sunbelt Red and his lovely wife (congrats on the new baby!–seriously folks, these two have the most beautiful family) at the front next to D.C.
Blondie (aka Wolfpack Lover) and her husband, Marty–who, as it turned out, went to high school with D.C., a class ahead of her.
Matthew (on his phone again–we forgive him, he’s a lawyer, after all, and he bought us wine!!) and Concretevol.
Troy–because we just can’t get enough of him.
KatyAnne and her hubby, Justin–too cute!
D.C. and her husband, Michael.
Nothing like great conversation and tales of adventure over mojitos, beer, and Mexican food.
D.C.’s husband and Eeyore (his long-lost cousin).
Troy and his giraffe, yet unnamed.
La Tapada–Getting into the dancing spirit.
Terry, Frank, and Stad.
Lucy Pevensie, Raconteur, and Troy—this photo is a work of art. It speaks for itself.
Frank, Stad, and Stad’s wife, Barbara, who are the greatest people you could ever meet. Stad has a smile that will light up the room, and nothing is better than hearing Barbara laugh.

It was so great to meet you too! I’m sure you doubt my hippie side–I try to get polished and shined for these things so the hippie stays at home. :)
Plus, I have EThompson’s spirit haunting me when I eye my Birkies–so out of fear I put on the heels. :)
Sunbelt, your wife is absolutely gorgeous, but given your looks I think your kids hit the genetic jackpot on both sides. Not only that, you are both so nice and engaging. I too wish we could have spent more time visiting. But, I’m sure we’ll have another Charlotte meetup again and we can catch up then. (or I’ll run into you at the bank! :)
OK, it’s official. Troy is nauseatingly good looking.
I believe I finally have the giraffe kerfuffle figured out. If Troy doesn’t mate with a giraffe, his offspring will be so blindingly beautiful as to cause mass traffic accidents.
We owe it to drivers all across America to ensure that Troy mates only with sufficiently funny-looking women. Alas, I am not funny-looking enough to volunteer…
[blushes] Shucks, thanks, Cuz…
Indeed. Ricochet’s online self-selected community is composed mostly of exceptionally interesting friends who just haven’t met yet.
My only regret is that I spent so much time behind the camera. Ricochet members are simply the best kind of people in the world.
Thank you, 10, but what I do is nothing compared to Denise, who is awesome beyond belief; you just have to see her spunky, beautiful nature in action. She is responsible for all the “groundwork”, finding the perfect venues for great food and atmosphere conducive to our conversations, and personally taking on all the hostess duties, while I fiddled with the camera and tripod. Last night, she labored, with virtually no help from me, to organize the photos, and write up this post. Ricochet is incredibly lucky to have her.
At the next meetup, Fred will do Phrenology readings.
Does anyone else see Troy is a better looking version of Will Wheaton?
This was my first meetup and it was great. We only attended the Saturday evening dinner, but met some great people. I’m sorry I missed meeting Lucy Pevensie. Thank you D.C. and 6foot2inheels for all you did for us!
Great pictures! So glad we could at least come to one event. Look forward to getting better acquainted with more people.
Did anybody end up going to the NASCAR Hall of Fame?
Our conversation was so much more interesting than any of the proposed activities that I don’t think anyone went to any of the attractions.
What a great weekend!!! Great conversation with great people. Wish we could make it to Michigan, but work gets in the way. Thanks to D. C. and 6’2″ in high heels for being great hostesses!
Thanks, Denise!
Where are the blackmail photos? Oh wait, something just showed up in my inbox . . .
Okay, my wife hasn’t seen THIS picture. How much, and will I get the digital negatives?
I wanted to go, but my wife wouldn’t let me. She knew I wanted a life-sized Danica Patrick poster . . .
Yellow shade with flaws?
We wished you were there too.
Giraffe photos? This is a family website!
Love these photos!
Because of their high Troy content, perhaps?
‘Digital negatives’ indeed. Stad is so out of touch!!!!
Hold the phone…there’s a Crackima, I mean Yakima meet up?
I’m doing some organizing on the Ricochet Meetup group and realized that the Ricochet Meetup Passport sticker @6foot2inhighheels created was never uploaded to this post. Must fix that.
Got it in my Ricochet passport . . .
That was a great time!
