As Expected, the Abortion Death Cult Demonstrates in the Seattle Area

Here are some stories from local media:

Protests to Hit Seattle in response to Roe v Wade overturning. (note the operative word HIT)

Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights is hosting a protest today at 5 p.m. as well, located at Westlake Park on 401 Pine St. A second protest will be held at the same time and place on Saturday as well. Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights is conducting protests across the nation in 16 cities.

Shout Your Abortion‘s (SYA) protest will be held at Yessler (sic) Terrace Park on 903 Yessler (sic) Way today at 5 p.m.

“SYA is normalizing abortion and elevating safe paths to access, regardless of legality,” the company said in a press release. “SYA makes resources, campaigns, and media intended to arm existing activists, create new ones, and foster collective participation in abortion access all over the country.

King County Executive pledges $1 Million to support abortion access in Pacific Northwest.

Seattle City Council takes up bill to make Seattle an “abortion sanctuary city”.

Inslee vows to guard abortion rights, expand access in Washington, in light of Supreme Court ruling.

Protesters take to the streets in Seattle and elsewhere.

While most people were peaceful, there were some isolated instances of violence and property damage. Seattle police said they arrested two people in two separate assaults. Additionally, two businesses were damaged along 2nd Ave. but no one was arrested in those cases.

My guess is that the two who were arrested will be released without charge.

Yes, abortion is the Holy Sacrament of the Death Cult of the Left.  The state of Washington already mandates that all medical insurance sold in the state must cover abortion.

I saw a post from a Facebook acquaintance who lives in New York state complaining about turning the clock back fifty years. My first thought was, “A woman in New York today has at least as much ability to kill her baby today than she did 50 years ago. For you the Court’s decision changed nothing.” (I of course did not send or post that as Facebook wars are never productive.) But the point remains that nothing has changed for most of the people yelling the loudest.

I know these people are nuts, but the idea that an abortion is something to celebrate and to “normalize” just boggles my mind.

But then I also notice that they have mostly stopped referring to the fetus. Previously they were careful not to refer to it as a “baby.” Now they are careful not to mention the object of abortion, even with words like “fetus.” Just talk about “abortion, abortion, abortion.” “Terminate pregnancy.” Don’t mention that an abortion is an action done to something. Can’t let the public even begin to think about the fact that there is a thing, and the purpose of the abortion is to kill the thing.

It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that many of these women (“women”) are getting pregnant on purpose in order to have an abortion.

Are Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee all going to ban abortion too?

Yup. Here is the map. Western North Carolina or maybe southern Illinois would probably be closest.

Wonder where this graph came from. My understanding is that the MS case that went to SCOTUS attempted to limit abortion to the first trimester (you know, like those enlightened Europeans). Since the MS law was upheld, wouldn’t MS fall into the “restricted” category? I believe TX has a similar law.

I noted their categorizations of “banned” also. The Mississippi law at issue in the Dobbs case prohibits abortion after 15 weeks, which is more than 1/3 of the way into a typical pregnancy. Hardly what I’d call a “ban.” The Texas restrictions kick in much earlier, at a detectable heartbeat. Apparently the designers of the map had a political agenda to fulfill that was more important than conveying accurate information. But, some of the “banned” category may be actual bans that pre-dated the Roe decision, and may now come back to life.

Also the light red “restricted” category could also be colored light blue as “permitted but with restrictions.”

I need to correct myself. Apparently Texas passed a law last year that said if the Roe decision were overturned, ALL abortions would be banned. So “banned” may be the correct category for Texas.
