Kasich suspends his campaign. Remind me again what his point was for staying in?

According to CNBC, via a “senior campaign advisor,” Kasich plans to suspend his campaign now.

Remember that the man who’d won a single state and only 153 delegates overall was sticking with his Quixotic campaign and it was totally not to be picked as Trump’s vice presidential nominee or to be a spoiler on the anti-Trump side.

Just because Trump won Indiana, what’s true now that wasn’t true yesterday morning? The only guess I have is that there’s little chance of an open convention, which would have been Kasich’s opportunity of being the delegates’ second round…third round…fourth…whatever…pick.

Update (12:05 PM EDT):  According to our local news (we’re near the Ohio border), Kasich’s skipping a campaign stop and will make an announcement in Dayton, I think, later today.

Apparently his only point was to be a thorn in the side of anyone but Trump.

He is staying in as long as his $funder, George Soros I read, wants him to.

He was staying in to divide the vote and keep Cruz from winning over Trump.

He did what he wanted, he helped knock out Ted Cruz. His job is over. Now he waits by his phone, praying that Trump picks him as VP.
