“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven. This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people. I read the whole deal. We gave away the whole store. It’s got to be stopped.”
This was enough to bring the President to deem to acknowledge those darn Republicans. In an NPR story he in a surprising turn uses it as an opportunity to paint all those with an (R) with one brush: “We just don’t fling out ad hominem attacks like that, because it doesn’t help inform the American people. Maybe this is just an effort to push Mr. Trump out of the headlines, but it’s not the kind of leadership that is needed for America right now.”
Hillary C. not happy with Huck either: “I’m disappointed, and I’m really offended personally. … I find this kind of inflammatory rhetoric totally unacceptable.” Martin O’Malley was also offended.
Of course, when the President attacks Republican candidates, they stick together, right?
Jeb! in a press conference reported in the NYT said, “The use of that kind of language is just wrong. This is not the way we’re going to win elections and that’s not how we’re going to solve problems. So, unfortunate remark — not quite sure why he felt compelled to say it.”
Apparently someone wasn’t offended. Michael Cohen, the special counsel to Donald Trump said his boss was okay with the statement: “We’ve been there. … I can tell you — there’s that old statement, ‘Never again.’ What Trump is trying to say is a nuclear Iran is the destruction of this world. What we need is a strong America.”
There aren’t many Huck fans in these parts and he’s not my pick for a candidate. I’m certainly not a Trump fan. But if it’s between “O & Jeb!” or “Huck and the Donald”…Well, the latter doesn’t look so bad. Because this deal really, truly could lead to the destruction of Israel.

yeah… Obama and Hillary feigning offense is kind of pathetic. Â To reference the holocaust is not itself offensive, and to suggest that Iran would like to see another one is the plain and simple truth. Â They are offended because they don’t like it when people acknowledge that obvious fact.
oh, and I’m ignoring Jeb!, because he needs to be ignored. Â Same with Trump and Huckabee, for that matter.
I don’t mind Republicans throwing punches at Democrats. Fine. Hit harder.
I do mind Republicans making it harder to return to some constitutional/fiscal sanity. Huckabee makes the Democrats’ argument about entitlements (SS, Medicare) being third-rail untouchable. I can’t forgive that.
He should not be running.
So, it’s ok to say that those who oppose the deal are pro-war, but it’s not ok to say that the deal helps the Iranians get closer to their goal of using nuclear weapons to destroy the Jews. That seems fair.
What are they saying by being offended…Â Iran with a nuke is not a threat to Israel?
