You read them. You love them.
And now they have their very own show.

In their first episode, John Hinderaker, Scott Johnson, Paul Mirengoff, and Steven Hayward are joined by Michael Barone to dissect the numbers behind the GOP’s historic election. Is President Barack Obama the gift that going to keep on giving to Republicans?

I’m enjoying the podcast. Will this podcast affect the status of the HWX?

A couple of things I’m taking away from Tuesday…

Several of the polls stunk. Not even close.

I agree with what Mr. Barone said about Obama and the “I heard the two-thirds of the people who didn’t vote” comment. Obama sounded like a sore loser.

I enjoy looking at the national map filled with red, but when the 2016 presidential election comes around, will some of these constantly-blue states be in play? I joke with a friend that the stock market could drop 50 percent, unemployment could be 10 percent, gas could be $5 a gallon, and the Democratic candidate would still win California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, etc.—a total to cover maybe 200 electoral votes without much of an effort. Will that change in two years?

Aren’t a lot of these elections about the candidates? If the Republicans nominated a bunch of Todd Akins and the Democrats nominated a bunch of Martha Coakleys, neither side would do very well.

It sounded like Mr. Barone was running a 5k, or at least working out on the treadmill.

Ricochet is producing another new line of podcast?  And this one will be done by the Powerline crew?

    Everything is coming up roses!

    Thank you, Ricochet!

Scott: Making the Democrats suffer is the right thing. I am for leaving the filibuster as it is. They made the bed. Force them to lie in it for as long as it takes.

Payback should be good and hard. Let them do the re-thinking, the self-criticism and move to the center this time. Oh, and every single Republican lawmaker who gets in front of a camera should adopt that line of thinking.
“The Democrats need to temper their Left-wing extremism and listen to the American people. They must learn to compromise and reach across the aisle.” Remind them of the party-line vote on Obamacare, etc.

And the outtro song should be an element of election ads in Democratic districts in 2016. Thanks for  the Podcast!
