Couldn't we find two better people to insult conservatives? Or did Ed Schultz and Janeane Garofalo want too much money?
Brian Terry dead? So what? A couple hundred dead Mexicans? So what? The only thing that didn't contemptuously roll off of their lips at their descriptions of those on the right that do think this is a big effin' deal were the words bitter clingers. But then those of us who don't have a "coast" are obviously handicapped...

Jennifer's attitude annoys me more from week to week. Fast and Furious is a good example of why.
As to Mickey's scenario whereby we root for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt so the fever can play itself out, the correct response is "How is that working out for you in Iran?"

Love Mrs. Rubin and this podcast. The people in the bubble are those who spend their entire day deep inside the hard right echo chamber. Rubin understands that the world isn't full of tea partiers and the conspiracy theories the hard right likes to put forth are poison to the conservative movement, just as Buckley did with the Birchers back in the 60s.

I see Mickey and Jennifer have inspired some passionate comments here. Good! That's the point of the show. But I can also see that there is some disagreement and maybe a bit of mis-understand as where they are coming from.
So, for the next show, we'll try something different: we'll let you guys ask questions directly to Mickey and Jennifer. We can't do a live call in show, but I'll post a phone number where you can leave a question. We'll play the questions in the show (I won't share them with Mickey and Jennifer beforehand) and they'll answer them live. Should be interesting.

I was so discouraged by the cavalier treatment of the Fast and Furious gun running scandal by Jennifer Rubin that I have no interest in listening to this podcast again. By the same token, I was so entertained by the conversation be Ron Delingpole and Tim Stanley on the Free Delingpole podcast that I am looking forward to the next one.

I stopped listening to this podcast ages ago but I still check the discussion for it once in a while to see if other members are still listening and whether or not they're enjoying it. Is Rubin still eating her lunch at the microphone these days?

Often I do not agree with Jennifer Rubin's take on things, but I do appreciate hearing from her, while her opinions may not always match mine, she is not some dumb talking head, if asked she can back up her ideas with well thought out reasoning, which is often not the same as mine, but still well thought out. I appreciate hearing different points of view, it is a way to sharpen my arguments.
Mickey I just love, he is honest and entertaining, and so very often wrong, in my opinion, but he also is not a typical knee jerk leftist. I think if there were more people like Mickey Kaus in the Democrat party, the USA would be in better shape.
I do enjoy listening to the podcast, even if sometimes I'm shouting back at the speakers and looking for something to throw, but then again I like a decent argument, a discussion, not a mud and excrement throwing party that most political discussion devolve into so quickly.
Jennifer and Mickey, please keep up the good work, I may not agree with you, but I enjoy the podcast!

The podcast's name is misleading. Mickey Kaus isn't really "left" and Jen Rubin isn't really "right", unless you compare her to the rest of the Washington Post writing staff. I listen because I want to know what the inside-the-beltway breed are ruminating about. Mickey has an interesting take on things sometimes and I like him (he was great in Idiocracy) but he's often ideologically incoherent. I don't think he even knows what he wants.
Then there are the audio issues. Rubin has a voice for print journalism. Compression and equalization plus a little less "edge" and mic proximity would help.
A better title for the podcast would be Too Smart by Half, with Jen and Mickey. In this episode they go into an M.C. Escher labyrinth of which candidate would produce a better result on immigration based on a hypothetical electoral calculus. My head was spinning with the abstractions, hypotheticals and ignored realities. It's all very interesting as long as you don't have to actually arrive.
I gain special insights listening to the podcast.

It's not their perspective that's off putting, different opinions are why I'm prompted to listen. It's their candid and almost complete ignorance of the details of Fast and Furious while dismissing it's significance that's irritating.

How about letting us also submit questions in writing. I'd seriously be interested in how Mickey Kaus figures we're going to pay for the healthcare insurance approach he seems to favor (everything for everyone whenever they want it).

I am quite excited to find that this podcast is included with my "price of a grande-latte" subscription. I would have joined a long time ago had I known that it included a podcast from Rubin and Kaus. What a treat. And the photo-shops are very amusing. Keep 'em coming.
The webmaster ought to at least let non-members know what 'left coast-right coast" is and who it's hosts are. Ricochet would get a lot more members that way.

300 innocent people are dead, including one US Border Guard. This isn't a conspiracy, this isn't insanity. It's dead bodies, and destroyed families. And I've yet to hear a reason for the operation other than "Obama wanted to use gun violence on the border to whip up public support for gun control."

MSNBC isn't free, you pay for it as part of your basic cable package. And I don't watch MSNBC, but I doubt you're hearing anything here that you're hearing there.
Not sure what you mean by online compression, but regardless, Mickey and Jennifer have nothing to do with the way the show sounds. That's my department. If there's a problem, take it up with me.
