Adelson Rolls the Big Dice
Prepare yourself for the liberal handwringing, and the agonized editorials in the NYTimes. Sheldon Adelson, who famously gave tens of millions of dollars to Newt Gingrich's primary run, is promising to open the moneygates for Mitt Romney. From Forbes:
Forbes has confirmed that billionaire Sheldon Adelson, along with his wife Miriam, has donated $10 million to the leading Super PAC supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney–and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A well-placed source in the Adelson camp with direct knowledge of the casino billionaire’s thinking says that further donations will be “limitless.”
And he seems excited about it:
Does Adelson feel guilty about one American potentially steering the fate of the presidential election? “I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections,” Adelson told me in February. “But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it. Because I know that guys like Soros have been doing it for years, if not decades. And they stay below the radar by creating a network of corporations to funnel their money. I have my own philosophy and I’m not ashamed of it.”
Can't say I disagree with him. And it makes me want to spend a few days at one of his two excellent resorts in Las Vegas, The Venetian and Palazzo just to kick a couple of bucks into his pocket.

And right next door is the Wynn and Encore, which are owned and operated by Steve Wynn, who's also a pretty staunch conservative.

The first time I heard the name Sheldon Adelson was when he started appearing in the same hate-filled leftist screeds as the Koch Brothers. Since he now apparently owns Wisconsin (having bought the election, I'm told), I suppose I should get to know him better.

No 'progressives' had the least problem with George Soros writing $20 million dollar checks in the last three presidential campaigns - and in the years in between; or Obama foregoing federal election money and going outside the McCain-Feingold limits in 2008. He then went on to spend three times as much as McCain.
The Left needs power and control, they feel entitled to it, morally superior to all critics, and will stoop to any level to get it. They're angry now because they're losing, and their whole 'progressive' world vision is collapsing.

Where did Dream Team Obama think they were going to come up with their targeted billion-dollar campaign, anyway? Shaking a tip cup down at the corner StarBucks? Nope, all that's going to get you are some recent college grads lifting coins out in a faux "donation".
There's a reason why Barry Barry Wonder Scary dropped the campaign spending limit like a bucket of fresh clams - he knew that chump change agreement would buy him less votes if he got out with hundreds of millions in his pockets from people he would be (if not overly, then backhandedly) shaking down for donations. Ask GE. Nice company you got there, etc. It's vote-buying, or vote-redistributing, however you want to look at it - because if you need a billion dollars to be President, Barry, there's no one left to run for the office or fund a campaign except the 1%.
So who works for who now, exactly? And why does anyone with at least a couple of pepples blowing around in their melons still think Barry's their guy? He couldn't be further from bare adequacy if he tried, and he's trying daily.

I'll be honest -- I was expecting an epic reference to fuzzy/stuffed dice. I am going to read the post again and see if I missed it.Someone at these PACs needs to put together an ad that starts with Obama opting out of the finance system in 08, juxtapose it with his admonishing the Supreme Court at the State of the Union, then punch line it with a political "neener neener."Because whatever independents may be sympathetic to the idea that all this money in politics should have the opportunity to balance that against the idea that sometimes karma is a ....
