Recently, our own Paul Rahe sat down with BYU Professor Paul Kerry on The Blaze TV for an extended, insightful discussion on the nature of republican government. Watch and grow wise.

They and the guys which the Glenn Beck people found were no less intelligent. The questions were good, and I spoke with the questioners immediately after.

Great job Professor Rahe. We need more shows like this on tv. Ive seen the Lena Dunham mentality in many of my female friends. They seem to have a real sense that great sexist oppression is one republican election victory away. They already seemed to be filled with righteous indignation at the thought of somebody telling them that perhaps their lifestyle choices are not the best for the long term. How does one reach out to such people?

There was a comment of the GLoP podcast, I believe made by Rob, with perhaps a tinge of nostalgia, that we (the conservatives) used to have Firing Line on PBS and yet don't have anything like that now. Well, far be it from me to suggest how others spend their money but my understanding is that conservative David H. Koch helps to fund NOVA on PBS and Rupert Murdoch may have helped get Ricochet off the ground. So, why is it that we can't have programs like the one above or Uncommon Knowledge or something similar on network television? Is this simply a lack of will? Or don't they test well?

Paul A. Rahe

Uncommon Knowledge was, I believe, once on PBS. I suspect that, as it became more partisan, Peter Robinson became less acceptable.

Well done Paul.  I think I could listen to you for hours.  Does Hillsdale video your lectures?  I would like to subscribe (even if there is a fee I would gladly pay it).

I have a couple of lectures in Hillsdale's Online Course on the Western Heritage. One of them has been posted; another soon will be. Go to http://online.hillsdale.edu/ and sign up. Donations are requested, but there is no charge.

A good question. I have no idea. In my case, sometimes they work and sometimes they fail. Here are the URLs:

Keep it down Guru, Bill Clinton might join Ricochet just for the girls.
