This was my first Hinderaker-Ward Experience; it won't be the last. Fantastic stuff! Loved the interview with John Nolte; I promptly went to Big Hollywood and am reading up on the Palin matrix now. Must resist the leftie meme!

I feel awkward mentioning this, but I could never look my brother-in-law in the face again if I knew that I didn't set the record straight. So...sigh. Here it is:

The Maquis were *not* primarily Klingons at all, although there were some Klingons among the Maquis. Perhaps the confusion stems from the fact that one of the main characters of ST: V, B'Elanna Torres, was half-Klingon and a member of the Maquis. Also, the Klingons did go to war against the Cardassians in ST: DS9. The Maquis, though, like their namesake Frenchmen, were independent freedom fighters (or "terrorists," to the Cardassians...wait a minute. Haven't we heard this tune before?). They were primarily colonists from the worlds in the demilitarized zone that were ceded to the Cardassians when they made peace with the Federation; some disillusioned Starfleet personnel joined the Maquis as well.
