Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party

Well, almost.
In the middle of the Nantucket Fourth of July festival, there was a Nantucket Tea Party booth:
The poster up close:
And across the street, leaning on his expensive bike, was Senator John Kerry (D-MA) -- you'll just have to trust me here; I didn't want to invade his privacy by taking a photo.
But the look on his face, as he stood across the street, watching the Tea Party display, the signs, the sign-up sheets, the crowd of happy and determined folks -- was priceless. It was a look of baffled annoyance.
Probably the same look the Royalists gave when they read the Declaration of Independence for the first time.

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
I have a lot of family on Nantucket. I'll bet my Uncle Charlie was nearby that tea party rally!
Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
It was a nice group of people. I remember something Andrew Breitbart told me on one of the podcasts -- the Tea Party folks are almost uniformly nice, polite, good natured, and having a great time, despite the seriousness of their purpose.
Tell your Uncle Charlie I said hi!

I'm shocked that there any non-liberals on Nantucket! Maybe there is a chance to recover the country we love next election!

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
Thanks for sparing us a pic of Mr Kerry in his body-hugging bicycle outfit.

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
Was Sen. Kerry wearing a safety helmet? Wouldn't want him to be in violation of some fed regulation.

I guess it was good he wasn't riding a horse. Who could tell one from the other?
Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
But now that image is seared, seared, into our minds.

And I'll bet that your Uncle Charlie isn't a community organizer, diversity consultant, Lecturer in Wimmin's Studies or professional 'Peace' activist. (Compare and contrast the Code Pink booth...)

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
I could make poetical puns about Senators from Nantucket, but we can leave that aside, I suppose.
Let us instead congratulate Nantucket and cheer on its Tea Party. You're in the belly of the beast, friends, one of the Bluest states in America. We wish you well. And rather than Senator Kerry in skimpy spandex, I'd prefer to see the look on his face when he's ousted from office due to the Tea Party. My best wishes to my brothers south of the NH border. Take back your state!

Ha ha! My husband just got in from a quick 40 mile ride dressed in his spandex......hey, you have to give the guy a break. It's what you wear when you ride. Probably the only good thing I can say about Kerry is that he's physically fit.

I wish I could have been there. I would have asked him if he wanted to go get some service medals to throw; not his own medals, of course.

Missed a Money Shot there.
Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
Hate to quibble, but "NOT THE SOLUTION" and "IS THE PROBLEM" should be in red. Perhaps that's what baffled Kerry. His eyes cannot see blue, so the poster looked like GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM, GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM, and he wondered why they had to speak such blasphemies twice.

It really was kind of Teresa to buy her man a nice bicycle.

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
I thought "baffled annoyance" was his Fourth of July face ? Didn't he go to Harvard ? Did he get the memo ?
Gotta be hard on a guy who already had to puzzle through why all those people went to Church yesterday, after all there were no mimosas or a brunch .
You should have yelled some joke about DSK to him in french.

Re: Sen. John Kerry vs. The Tea Party
Why not take his picture? A public servant astraddle his bike in public has no privacy to invade. The care that Kerry lavishes on his hair tells you he wants to be noticed. Body-hugging Spandex tells the same story.

Gee whiz, after all the accolades on Ricochet for Rubio's latest speech on "class warfare," must we snark on the ownership of nice things? There are countless other criticisms to be made of John Kerry....
