Inside a Young Mind Excited Enough about a White House Press Release to Share It on Social Media
(Or so I imagine...)
The White House responded to the petition to build the Death Star! With Star Wars inside jokes! And even a link to a picture of the president playing with a light saber. The government is just too cool. They really get what it means to be a person in this day and age, you know? I feel like I can really talk to them, come to them with my problems, and they'll understand and help me solve them. Like a godparent. Is that what a godparent is? I've only ever seen the movie. Anyway, I'm so proud to have a government like this. Way to go, government!

Judging from the young (and not-so-young) folks I follow on Twitter, I think you nailed it.

Cool? They're practically groovy! Conservatives need to develop this kind of cutting-edge humor.

And they STILL get it wrong.
Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?
The X-Wing is a snub fighter, geniuses.

I was about to make a snark then stopped. Obama's the first Democrat since FDR to win consecutive majorities of the popular vote. A cheap laugh seems like cold comfort.Besides, didn't their nerds just whip our nerds in the NARWHAL vs. ORCA showdown?

Our nerds run half-marathons and work for a living. Their nerds post on Twitter to earn collective applause.
I vote our nerds.
