A new Youtube ad by the Scott Brown campaign asks the question, "How did we go from this ... ," as it shows clips of former presidents--including Democratic ones--praising small business and free enterprise, "to this?", as it shows clips from President Obama's "You didn't build it" speech and Elizabeth Warren angrily telling an audience, "You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for."

We've completely lost the "free" concept in our enterprise. Government is now a few fedoras and Tommy guns away from being a full fledged protection racket. And it's at all levels. I've had discussions recently with liberals who think the logical end result of free enterprise is clear cut forests and benzine in our water. They cannot see that free enterprise is just us, the American people, building things others need, selling things others want, and realizing our dreams of making life tomorrow better for our children than life yesterday was for us. Obama and company do not believe in the American dream. It's time we rise up and say to them that we the people still do.

What I always find striking about that Elizabeth Warren video is how her tone so clearly contradicts the words "good for you."
Beyond the content of the ad, there's another little reminder here of how sharp a campaigner Brown is: the ubiquitous Red Sox jacket.

What a spectacular ad! I love the quotes from JFK and LBJ. Contrast not just the words, but the tone.
The lemonade stands were a great touch.

Wonderful ad! It asks the question that has been on my mind since I first heard Obama's Roanoke speech. How can an American President display such an attitude towards business and entrepreneurship? Doesn't he understand the free-enterprising spirit that made America the leader of the world in developing a rich economy for all? Where has he been all his life? The poorest American is many times richer than most people in the rest of the world.
As a Canadian, I am left asking is he a true American? He certainly isn't like the ones I admire.

Man, he's good at the game. Can anyone name a better natural politician right now? He has that spark you see in folks like Haley Barbour. Rubio is good at the podium, Ryan is tops at talking shop, Newt is a rhetorical Uzi, and Jindal is the brainiest, but Brown has them beat by a mile when it comes to pressing the flesh.

And, I am disappointed at the "you didn't build that" out of context bit. Truly unfortunate. If the free-enterprise argument wins on its rational merit, then we need to support the tenets of rational argument. This is killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

When Obama in 2008 said that he wanted to fundamentally change the country and when he called his administration The New Foundation, he meant precisely what he said. He wanted to overthrow the work of the Founding Fathers and replace a society based on individual rights and responsibilities with one based on collectivism. John McCain did not have the wit or energy to unmask the man. Let's hope that Romney has both.
Scott Brown's advertisement has the virtue that it goes after Obama on Romney's behalf.

Let's hope that the $100 M spent by Obama the past months attaking Romney is a huge attempt at a haymaker punch that misses and that Romney reponds with a solid counter after the GOP convention when he can finally start spending his money. I have a feeling that all GOP hopefuls will be using this type of message starting in Sept. I also think that Dem candidates will start distancing themselves from Obama more and more as he becomes toxic in their local polls. This can't be good for Obama!
Oh, and BTW, Rasmussen has Romney up 5 today. More importantly, Obama is stuck at 43-45 for weeks now.

So far, Obama's huge negative campaign hasn't done anything except drive his favorability numbers off a cliff.

That Elizabeth Warren clip gets more shrill, contemptuous and vitriolic each time I see it.
Honestly, has anyone asked the good Professor who exactly she thinks it is who paid the taxes that financed the public roads?
I'm just asking because, seems to me, if you follow the logic, it turns out that, yes, they did build those too.

What do we know about Brown's chances? The last poll I saw had Warren up by 5? But I think Brown was losing right up until voting day last time...
