As it turns out, the #OWS crowd isn't so lazy and good-for-nothing after all.  It seems that some of the Occupy Wall Street 99-percenters do work for a living.  As Occupy Wall Street 99-percenters.

From Business Insider:

Not sure if the video below is real or not--perhaps it was created to make the Wall Street protesters look bad--but this Chicago "protester" says that he's getting paid $22 an hour plus overtime to complain about corporate greed.

(He talks about this around the 3-minute mark).

Here's the video:

And here's the possible Craigslist ad:

FIGHT TO HOLD WALLSTREET ACCOUNTABLE NOW! MAKE A DIFFERENCE! GET PAID!

The Working Families Party (WFP) (www.workingfamiliesparty.org) is New York's most energetic, independent and progressive political party. Formed in 1998 by a grassroots coalition of community organizations, neighborhood activists, and labor unions, we came together to build a society that works for all of us, not just Wall Street CEOs and the well-connected. WFP is independent from corporate and government funding and in-addition we are community based; community funded and equally uninfluenced by both major parties. Our agenda focuses on economic and social justice, corporate accountability, job creation, environmental protection, and investment in education and healthcare.

The WFP is seeking immediate hires.

I don't begrudge anyone a job, of course.  Honest work, etc. etc.  But there is something, well, sharply ironic about a non-profit with enough money and funding (via donations, I presume) to pay folks to protest a system that creates enough wealth to fund, via donations, a non-profit that then hires folks to protest that system.

My suggestion is: cut out the middleman.  Have Wall Street investment banks permanently employ folks to protest outside their offices.

I can't think of any way in which this helps Obama/the left.

It would almost be worth going out for this if only to see what the job(less) interview would be like.

Q: "Do you have any previous experience as a worthless parasitic entity?"

A: "Well, I was an adolescent once.  Does that count?"

Q: "Can you mindlessly parrot utter rubbish for extended periods of time?"

A: "I was the Six Sigma co-coordinator for my engineering section, so yeah, not only can I repeat rubbish, I can get other people to repeat it as well."

Chanced upon the "Occupation" of my city by accident, did not realize we had one.  I saw a sign that said "Ph.D≠Job". I took a picture and a woman asked if I liked her sign.  We got to talking about the sign and it turns out that she was still a Ph.D student with a current position and actually had a post doc in California lined up that she was declining.  Her decision was based on the fact that very few Ph.Ds can find full time positions in academia even after two post doc positions.  Her research was centered on a calcium pathway regulated or modified by cannabinoids (THC-like compounds) and her group hoped to publish about in a major journal.  I asked her about taking it to market with a private start-up and she said that investors would only fund the project if the lab followed current standard chemistry protocols and she wanted a green, sustainable biochemistry lab.  I had hoped to make the point that the very people she hoped to garner investments from had to have millions in disposable wealth but she became skittish when the drug-sniffing police dogs arrived.

On the other hand, if one did apply for the job, and didn't get it, that would be a stupendous blow to the ego.  Just imagine being unqualified at being employed as someone unqualified at being employed.

The logical consequences of this would probably cause you to suddenly disapp

I believe this is, to use Rep. Pelosi's vocabulary, "astro-turfing".  At least they're staying consistent with OWS values of making a "living wage" of at least $20 an hour.  I wasn't even making that at my first job out of college.

Here is the CraigsList ad by WFP.

Up to $650 a week, depending on experience and responsibilities!  Even collectivists demand value for their own money, just not the government's.

Reminiscent of David Dinkins’ gorgeous mosaic, The Return of… Not unexpectedly, the nobility of community organizing comes from, well, nobility and wealth:

Their American brethren can only reflect, of course, the spirit of our best entrepreneurs.

He did speak to one problem.  Many banks actually have robo-signed a large number of foreclosure statements without due diligence to see if they actually owned the mortgage.

With mortgages bundled and sold then re-sold then re-re-sold, the banks do not really know who owns many of the mortgages.  It is a huge problem here in FL.

Where did you find time ?

Posted some links earlier to the craigslist, the Gaspard connex. ACORN is Working Families, and ACORN grubs up govt money like a hoovering cokehead.

And when it can't get it on the up and up, like any addict, it lies, changes it name, and promises-promises that this is the last time.

Obama has kicked off his campaign and whew ! does it smell ...

Imagine the gall it takes to create a campaign for the American Presidency that includes this kind of behaviour.

I guess that the insults about Copperheads and "Ma ma, where's my pa ?" was pretty edgy in the day, but this----------- does "new low" even begin to describe ?

Why is it that after reading Mr. Long's last suggestion, the phrase "In Soviet Russia, banks protest you!" came to mind?
