Enviro-Fascism for Toddlers
My kindergartner (ok, not a toddler, per se) is watching some Nickelodeon show called “Rainbow Rangers.” I only paid attention to the background noise until I heard something infuriating. Their happy little home was experiencing earthquakes; very odd, since they’re not on a fault line. What could possibly be causing this destruction to their home?
Why, fracking, of course. “Scientists say that it’s bad for the environment.” The fracking manager lays booby traps and is, of course, as evil as possible. Undeterred, the Rainbow Rangers show him a better way to generate energy: windmills! Never mentioned, of course, is that wind energy is incredibly inefficient and saves no money long term, to say nothing of the impact (pardon the pun) on fowl-life.
So, I can’t even let my little girl watch just about anything on PBS or Nickelodeon, etc. I have to review everything to make sure she’s not being indoctrinated with abject falsehoods. I’m already busy fighting the brain-washing from the other four kids in higher grades (two in high school, one in middle school, one higher in elementary), but I have to worry about this, too.
It’s simply exhausting. John Derbyshire was/is right: We Are Doomed.

I remember feeling as if I was holding a screen door closed against a deluge…of all kinds of crud.
Your little doodlebug will be okay.
When I was little, I remember a conversation with my mother in which I waxed indignant about the song “The British Grenadiers.” (“Some talk of Alexander…and some of Hercules…of Hector and Lysander….”) What caused me to take offense? That British soldiers were being described as brave. Everyone knew the British were the bad guys.
Because….the Revolution. Right?
It wasn’t a problem of PBS PC—I was a reader—a precocious reader—and apparently was doing a lot of digging into the colonial and Revolutionary eras. I was anti-lobster-back.
My mother—who was born during WW2 (“We shall fight them on the beaches…we shall fight them in the fields…” ) had to explain that now the Brits were our friends. And very, very brave.

So yes, we are doomed.
You’re not doomed, but they do begin bright and early with the propaganda. Look for DVDs of classic movies and shows from when they knew how to make entertainment for kids…Mary Poppins, Little House on the Prairie (broadcast on Hallmark…record it on the DVR…really good for little girls), The Waltons, dare I say it, Bugs Bunny. There are also a lot of audiobooks available for kids as well. PBS has been a kiddie cesspool for a long time.
I went on Amazon and bought my new grandson a bunch of American Heritage Library books to try and mitigate this.
Some the eco-fascism is fake propaganda sponsored by Russia (who certainly favored Hillary). Read about how Russia killed frak’ing in the UK and other places by spending Rubles on disinformation. This is the real meddling that was ignored by Obama the most pro-Russian president in history.
This sounds like a job for… Captain Planet!!!
We need a Captain Capitalism to murder him and deport whichever one of those kids didn’t have a green card.
Yup. Didn’t the Russians used to fund anti-nuclear activists in the U.S., too?
Laugh out loud funny.
I think the main objective to fracking is that it extends by two or three years the dominance of fossil fuels, and thus forestalls the inevitable clean future that’s right around the corner, much cheaper, more powerful, and endorsed by St. Greta. Frackers are like the White Army, fighting the noble Reds. We know they’ll lose; why can’t they just die already?
It is the movie monster that rises at the end of the movie despite being killed by the script fair and square.
