Senate Confirms Mnuchin, Shulkin
The Senate voted Monday to confirm Steven Mnuchin as President Trump’s Treasury Secretary. The 53-47 vote included Joe Manchin (D-WV) as one of the “ayes.” All other Democrats and Independents voted against him. Mnuchin spent most of his career at Goldman Sachs before founding a hedge fund and later financing major Hollywood movies.
Following that decision, the Senate confirmed David Shulkin to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs in a unanimous vote. For the past 18 months, Shulkin served as Obama’s Under Secretary for Health for the VA.
The Senate has now confirmed personnel for 11 of the top positions in the Trump administration.

This is absurd. Not only should Democrats like much of Munchin’s policy preferences, under what possible metric could Munchin be unqualified?
Dr. Shulkin is an excellent choice. World class physician with Military-Doctor pedigree. And the best qualification for mental soundness: not a surgeon.
Because Trump. That’s all the reason they need.
Dang, beat me to it.
All I can think of is total spoiled-brat-tantrum. I want to respect these people, but they are making it impossible.
They protest his inhale – Omg, he has inhaled! This shall not stand! Then, what? He exhaled! Sound the alarm!!
I would have opposed Shulkin. Has the VA been better under his watch?
The VA should be replaced wholesale by medical vouchers.
