The choice is between a purely symbolic vote and attempting to manage the bull in a china shop. The former can only hope to prepare ground for a gradual transition from GOP to a new party. The latter rolls the dice with what we see here and now.

One thing to remember is that the Never Trumpers do not represent the majority of the Republican party. Millions of Republicans across the country voted for this man, and he won fair and square despite the incredible amount of money spent against him. Like it or not, those voters deserve to be heard.

Well…  I hope you’ve been following the comments on recent threads if you want to know how the (Ricochet, at any rate) neverTrump people are thinking.  It’s been a hot topic, of late.

But if you want my answer (which you specifically did not ask for, haha), it is that I will be sitting this one out.  Maybe voting for republicans down-ballot, except anyone who supported Trump.

As for the false-alternative, I hope you won’t allow that to stand.  Not voting for Trump is not the same as supporting Hillary, no matter how many times his supporters say that it is.

I couldn’t agree more. I can only make the voting decision for one person — and that’s me.

I was sitting on the floor helping my husband pack our bags, and I heard this familiar voice on the TV. I looked at the face that went with the voice, and there you were! Very cool! Good job!

    One problem; it’s Fox News.

Question for those who do watch that channel:  how many minutes per day are they discussing something completely disconnected from Trump?

Trump voters deserve to be heard.  And the people that voted against Trump deserve to be heard.

Trump is now the nominee, so the Trump voters have clearly been heard. What will Trump do to reach out to conservatives and allay their serious concerns about his character, policies, etc.?

My guess is nothing, but I would be very happy  to be proven wrong.

Now you’ve done it. Nature abhors a void, and now someone will have to be the Unknown Jew.

I get a mental picture of the Unknown Comic (remember him, 70’s people?) with a yarmulke on his bag.

That’s why I’ve switched to CNN: you can always count on them cutting to breathless live coverage of a plane with jammed landing gear as a nice respite from too much politics.

Go back to 2012 and compare the number of primary voters who voted for Romney and compare them to the number who voted in 2016 for Trump.

Take a look at the number of primary voters voted for someone other than Trump and then the number who voted for someone other than Romney.

Here are the 2016 numbers through Indiana

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/republican_vote_count.html

10.6 million for Trump, nearly 14.5 million against.

Trump will wind up with more votes than any other Republican nominee, but will also wind up with FAR more votes against than any other Republican nominee, and he’ll probably end up with the lowest percentage of the overall total vote since 1968.
