Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
You Could, in Fact, Make this Up–But this Time I Didn’t
I’d say, “You couldn’t make this up,” but I suppose I proved otherwise just yesterday. This, however—I swear to you—is real:
Chrissy Teigen: ‘Stop Ebola-Shaming’
It’s official: Ebola panic has gone viral—on the Internet, that is. And while the fear is somewhat justified (it’s scary!), Chrissy Teigen would like to point out that our use of social media is proooobably [sic] only making things worse—especially for the victims involved.
Her Tweets contain words that are not appropriate for Ricochet, or indeed for public discourse generally, but if you are determined, you may read them through the link provided.
Elle magazine nods approooovingly:
Published in GeneralShe has a fair point. After all, the victims and their families are dealing with enough as it is without becoming public pariahs. Maybe they could use some support rather than finger-pointing?
Always ahead of the curve Claire. A pioneer. Maybe you should just start submitting your joke column ideas to liberal journals as real topics. Milk this cow at both ends.
Well, if there are any bikini scenes in Ebol-UP! , you may have found your female lead.
Why is anyone paying the least bit of attention to idiot children such as Ms. Teigen?
What purpose is served? Better by far to let this type of adolescent stupidity vanish from existence simply by ignoring it.
Clowns will always seek an audience.
I never liked zoos. Even as a child I thought that caging animals was just wrong but I get your point. ;-) The two posts are well done as usual Claire.
We have arrived at a time of true absurdity that has been aided and abetted by the reality that there are millions of truly foolish and ignorant people who have access to broad public venues. There was a time when the local idiot could only harass people at the corner pub, now they get to cavort for a broader audience that sometimes encourages them because they like the spectacle. Society not only receives no benefit from the flood of stupidity, we are, in my opinion, harmed.
I always thought men went to zoos for two reasons.
Don’t see how either apply to Ms. Teigen. Maybe I am too old-school.

On the bright side, at least there’s no finger pointing that conservatives have a war on Ebola victims. Not yet anyways.
Statist calculus:
non-judgementalism + non-discernment* = zero rational thought
*”discernment” is used rather than discrimination for the sake of liberals, who think the term only applies to race
So much for thought.
When it comes to statist feelings:
Fear is vestigial in individuals. The state takes care of all that. To the extent it is still felt it is pure hysteria.
Anger is the exclusive province of liberals, reserved for heretics and apostates. Similarly, compassion and understanding, which are reserved for those who utter liberal shibboleths but behave in any way they like, regardless of the consequences.
Satire is dead.
Maybe she is seeking a man to support her, and thus allow her not to have to write tripe like this ever again?
I thought I’d share this important public service announcement:
Afterwards, please return to any TV channel, to resume normal, denial-of-reality, government indoctrination. Thank you.
If my mom was busy getting offended by the internet while I bled through the eyes, I would probably stop fighting Ebola.
< petty quibble mode = on >
I do not believe that Ebola is transmitted via urine. The ammonia in urine kills pretty much everything, so go ahead an roll around it it, if you really, really want to do so.
I am not a trained medical professional.
< petty quibble mode = off >

Jesse Jackson has come pretty close.
