Perhaps Mainstream Democrats Haven’t Totally Radicalized Yet

This morning an interesting story came out of Politico:

A plurality of Democrats support calls to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to a new survey conducted amid the activist fury on the left over President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

But calls to get rid of the agency are unlikely to prove a winning position for candidates in this year’s midterm elections, and could actually hurt them with independents and Republicans, according to the July 6-10 Morning Consult/Politico poll of 1,999 registered voters.

This coming midterm election will be an interesting test of the Democratic future: will their base push for the hard left and run the risk of losing a significant number of voters outside their base, or will pragmatism rule the day?

Let them go the full Monty. They are only pragmatic when they are in the (lieing through their teeth mode).

Commies, most of them are, at heart.

Bethany Mandel: A plurality of Democrats support calls to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcemen

    Bethany,

When we are talking to people this is actually our strongest argument. The Democratic Party can’t be trusted. They have been taken over by the radical left. No mainstreamer can afford to cross the crazed demagogues. To allow any Democrat to hold power at the National level right now is a disaster. Trump has shown himself to be reasonable. More and more people realize that they can live with Trump and it is in their interests to do so.

You can’t live with the radical left and it is definitely not in your interest to delude yourself that you will get anything else from the Democrats for the foreseeable future.

    Regards,

    Jim

What I see is a plurality support it.  Knowing that America doesn’t support it is different from supporting it themselves.

In other words they have to trick people to get elected.

Hmmm. My first thought of an analogy/metaphor …

This reminds me of what you hear from “moderate Muslims” about their extreme brethren …

Mainstream Democrat politicians?  Hard left almost all the way now.

Mainstream Democrat voters?  Having second thoughts about pulling the D lever . . .

To quote Glenn Reynolds, all the Democrats have to do is not be crazy, and they can’t even manage that.

The problem with the Dems is one that is easy enough to solve. If anyone in that Party had any brain cells left. (Were the all pink hats way too tight?)

Anyway all it would take to get them going upwards in the polls is following the rejoinder that when you have dug yourself into a hole, quit digging!

He’s wrong about the first part, and right about the second. In my opinion.

I hope Trump can goad them into even more madness in the run up to the election.

Trump doesn’t even have to goad them.  Just by doing his job, Trump drives them into a frenzy.  Keep watching, and make more popcorn . . .

In other news, a majority of Democrats state they have no idea what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement actually does.

The problem with the left going so crazy is that the media will not challenge them.  Normally the main body of a political party is asked to comment on/disavow the fringe members by the media.  The fringe is pushed out and those near the fringe are pulled in.  But with TDS media not willing to confront Dem. leaders, the fringe can grow and yet the party is not held to account for their No Borders, No Profits lunacy.  I have seen the hammer & sickle in marches.  We should also be scared, because socialism is the deadliest idea ever created.

New York Magazine publicly advocates the Bribery of Senator Collins …

You know this goes on behind the scenes. The desperate dems are now “mainstreaming” it.

There are no moderate democrats in Congress. None.

It would be an incredible ideological about-face for the Democrats to win elections on the promise of eliminating any federal agency.

Snapshots of current opinions of “mainstream” Dems don’t disclose trends.  A lemming who, having run off a cliff is at this moment measured to be 40 feet above the ground is not safely removed from an impending collision because of that distance.

Joe Biden once signed the pledge with the Ad Hoc Committee on Right to Life to support a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe V. Wade as did Al Gore, Dick Gephardt and a host of other “mainstream” Democrats  who now would likely support a right to abortion up to 6 to 12 months after delivery.

The capacity of Democrats to “move” in undesirable directions may be boundless.
