Unsafe for the Community

Pick the target; freeze it; personalize it; and polarize it.

Diamond and Silk have been too good. They now have not only outraged the vindictive Left by daring to think for themselves and leaving the Liberal Plantation, they have been very effective in communicating their perspective to their community. So much so that others have joined them in having the courage to leave the Liberal’s Plantation. For this great offense, they have been banned from the Facebook “Community.” Oh, really?!

Ladies, stay the course. You are making a difference. Stay strong. Endure. It is a righteous fight.

You are bigger … and better … than Facebook. And you’re in very good company.

This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace [yea, hang your head Biden]. It’s a high-tech lynching for uppity Blacks, who in any way deign to think for themselves. And it is a message, that unless you kowtow to the old order, you will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured … by a committee of the U.S. Senate rather than hung from a tree.

Wow those are strong words  – ridiculous that Facebook is mimicking the universities in selectively silencing free speech – PS – I may change my name to Smooth Ruby….

It’s true. They are unsafe. The ruling class can not rest safely and securely in its exalted position if their subjects are allowed to talk like that.

    Columbo,

There is a huge number of people using Facebook on the right. While everyone’s attention is taken up by the flap about Facebook selling data, Facebook will use the confusion as an opportunity to censor right-wing opinion.

    Look out.

    Regards,

    Jim

They refuse to be content with the viewpoints allocated to them by their race and gender. That’s dangerous, baby.

    Columbo,

Check out Zuck’s prepared speech before Congress.

READ: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Prepared Testimony Revealed Ahead of Wednesday Hearing

“Just recently, we’ve seen the #metoo movement and the March for Our Lives, organized, at least in part, on Facebook,” he declared, before apologizing for not doing “enough to prevent these tools from being used for harm,” such as “fake news, foreign interference in elections, and hate speech, as well as developers and data privacy.”

#metoo, BLM, and March for Our Lives, the hysterical left-wing witch hunts promulgated by Media Matters and funded by Soros are what Facebook is proud of promoting. Meanwhile, everyone else (the right) is involved in hate speech, foreign interference in elections, and fake news. Zuck’s going to try to do a better job shutting them down. How thoughtful.

Look out for gaming of the system by the worst of the worst.

Report: Establishment Media Soaring on Facebook, Conservative Media in Decline Following Algorithm Change

The biggest drops in March were to non-legacy conservative media. NewsWhip notes that The Daily Wire saw a loss of 1.5 million engagements this month, while Western Journalism’s position in the rankings fell by almost half, from 12th to 22nd. Breitbart News is now 21st in the rankings, compared to 9th in December.

What changed? NewsWhip states the obvious:

“It seems highly likely that these changes are predicated on the ongoing news feed algorithm changes, which took effect around the end of January. It’s not clear whether these increases have resulted in more traffic for the sites concerned, and it’s not to say that all sites will have benefitted.”

    The fix is in!

    Regards,

    Jim

Is it just me, or is “unsafe for the community” a really creepy phrase? Reminiscent of Hitler’s “people’s community,” the Volksgemeingschaft that had to be protected from the influence of, y’know, the Jews.

What community is it that must be protected from two fairly anodyne black Trump supporters?

The one that believes, heart and soul, that conservatives are racist. That there’s no other explanation for why working class people voted for Trump; because he dog-whistled them. After all, they’d get more free stuff if they voted for Democrats! So what other explanation could there be?

Black conservatives are really loathed by the left, because they confound the all-important narrative.

I still don’t understand why conservatives were so quiet when President Obama was meeting with these social meeting companies and putting them up to this. One of the great mysteries of life, I guess.

I went and liked and followed their page, and then recommended it to eight of my conservative friends. Show Facebook how their censorship will just make these unsafe women more popular.

That inspires an idea: Maybe they should sell “Unsafe Woman” T-shirts, as a counterpoint to the “Nasty Woman” meme.

Because so many of the most vocal speakers for “Conservatism, Inc.” are pansies who won’t ever be caught being “extreme”.

Yeah, but I didn’t see any conservatives of whatever variety making a fuss about it, other than what few squeaks I was able to make myself.

Yes!  Or even: “I am Unsafe To The Facebook Community.”

My friend Mel (still claims to be a liberal, isn’t one really anymore) posted this on his Facebook page:

To my liberal and progressive friends who truly want to combat racism:

Diamond and Silk are two African-American women who have built a successful brand for their comedy and commentary on social media and in other outlets. If you read their post below, you’ll learn that Facebook has decided that their content and brand are “unsafe to the community,” so FB users who have “liked” and “followed” D&S will no longer see D&S’s posts in their news feed.

Here’s the kicker, my friends: D&S are pro-Trump and often appear on Fox News. I dug down into their FB timeline to see if I could find examples of their doing something objectionable, like spreading clearly false stories, but all they seem to do is to express opinions that are common among white Trump supporters.

This action by FB is clearly because of their race. I guess black women are not allowed to express support for Trump (as white people can). Also, the phrase “unsafe to the community” suggests that FB can decide that some opinions are contrary to its idea of what community it wants. That’s a dangerous principle.

    First they came for…

I don’t know the best way to complain about this, but first consider “liking” their page, as I have, and then if you figure out the right way to lodge a complaint, please let the rest of us know.

Zuckerperson should have been challenged on that today when he was trying not to say that he didn’t believe in free expression or providing a neutral platform. He did say that Facebook didn’t allow speech that made people feel unsafe.  He was not challenged on which people’s feelings mattered. Because I feel unsafe living in a country where there is such hostility to free speech in high places.

Zuckerperson said he wanted Facebook to be place for everyone, but he didn’t say that people didn’t have to conform to correct thinking in order for it to be a place for them. He didn’t say whether Facebook felt any need to accommodate others, or whether others needed to accommodate themselves to Facebook.

I also wish somebody would have asked him about what Barack Obama said when he called social media companies together to talk to them about controlling narratives.

It would be nice if he would also explain what the mistake was, and how he is planning to keep this from happening again.

And what would be a legitimate purpose for getting in contact with them? To apologize? If it was for that, why not just say that FB apologized?

(I expect the name Zuckerberg is going to become synonymous with “weasel”, just like Bill Clinton is synonymous with “liar.”)
