Ricochet Boston Meetup and Panel
Saturday evening, @michaelstopa hosted a Ricochet meetup and a “How’s Trump Doing So Far?” panel discussion. It looks like we had over 50 attendees and signed up six or eight new Ricochet members. We had a great space: a large closed patio with effective space heaters and attentive service.
For the first hour and a bit we socialized:
Above L-R: @PJS, @KateBraestrup, @IShotTheSerif
Above L-R: @PJS, @HenryRacette, @KateBraestrup, @IShotTheSerif
Above: Team Maine
Then it was time for the panel:
Above L-R: @ToddFeinburg, Jessica Vaughan, @MichaelGraham, @roblong
Michael Graham went on a rant repeatedly asking, “Where is my drink?” The Bushmills fairy appeared, and was told she is loved.
Above is Geoff Diehl, the brave soul running against Faux-cahontas.
@JonahGoldberg was right: Rob does look like Santa. He wasn’t quite sure about having his picture taken with Stopa’s hat. But there is no escaping PJS and the mighty Nikon.
It was a nice showcase for Ricochet. We had people with all sorts of thoughts and feelings about President Trump. They were expressed strongly, but not abusively, no name-calling or other attacks. We were thoughtful, respectful, and polite. That’s what we’re all about.
All y’all that were there, please share your experiences with everyone. And if you weren’t there, why not have your own meetup? I’ll be happy to help (in person or via email/PM/phone).
Respectfully submitted,
PJS

Looks like y’all had a great time!
Yes – looks like a fine group – holding that red hat and even conservative chatter in that town was a teeny bit risky….would love to hear more details! No field trip to Faneuil Hall?
Who’s the Earnest Hemingway impersonator with the MAGA hat?
My husband (a new Ricochet member as of Saturday night) and I had a great time! I wish we could have stayed longer to mix and mingle – it was fun to see how many conservative/libertarians there are in this area. Thanks for organizing!
We welcome your husband to Ricochet, libertybelle!
Orson Welles impersonator. Rob bought the rights to a Magnum PI reboot and plans to play Robin Masters.
So basically every conservative in Massachusetts in one room.
@Roblong I can see why Harry Shave has abandon us. Some spokesman.
Thanks for the come-with, PJS!
Wow! Really sorry I wasn’t able to come.
The best Bushmills Fairy….EVER!
Pretty much. And all white and mostly of a certain age. (I did meet a fine young man from Ukraine, though.) It is depressing to consider that culture seems always to move left. Still, it was indeed great fun. I learned a few things, too.
Another great job by community organizer (sorry) @pjs
I wish I had been there!
Thanks for sharing @pjs! Team Baldy hoisted a couple in Team Boston’s honor.
And watch out for that @MichaelGraham character around your drinks… especially on cruises.
Patty calls herself the Ricochet PTA Mom. She is, in fact, the watchspring that made everything go smoothly! Many thanks to her for everything she does!
(…and if *you* are planning a meetup somewhere/sometime, you would be wise to get Patty on board!).
I’ll see you in midtown mañana to plan our NYC Christmas party.
Thanks Mike! I am always happy to help.
When you look this word up in the Ricochet Meetup Thesaurus, the first synonym that pops up is “got hammered”.
Sounds as if a great time was had by all. Gratz!
Triple thanks to Patty and all those who organized! It was great to meet all the familiar names and connect them to faces. Looking forward to a summer meetup in Maine next year!
