Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

By the end of the week when our three bartenders assembled, the Trump indictment had been pretty well munched and masticated, so there wasn't much left to say about the matter for the moment. But John Yoo has a wild idea to resolve the controversy: President Biden, he says, should pardon Trump right now, and say "Let's put everything before the voters next year on the issues."
Of course the last thing Biden wants to do right now is run on the issues, since he's doing such a dreadul job, and in any case there is no chance Trump will agree to any conditions for a pardon (such as admitting guilt or agreeing to drop out of the presidential election altogether). And it is doubtful Biden has either the statesmanship or the cynical wit to see the mischievous possibilities of a pardon.
From there the gang tries to read the tea leaves at the Supreme Court, which handed down another puzzling ruling this week regarding Indian adoptions, and finally we continue our "best of" recommended reading list with some nominations for best satirical fiction.

This is unbelievably naive. Biden arrested and is criminally prosecuting Trump in order to prevent him from being elected again. Biden wants Trump to die in prison. That John can say something so detached from reality is certainly eye-opening.
As for the issue of the Left-wing ads that play on the podcast:@StevenHayward brushed it off by saying the hosts have no control over the ads. This is not really true. Yes, the ads are inserted automatically by Spreaker.com based in part on geography. But Spreaker does have some settings available to block certain types of ads based on IAB category. Of course, that relies on the advertiser to categorize correctly. The Febreze ad that I complained about and that @Lucretia mentioned was probably categorized as "IAB 10 Home & Garden" rather than as "IAB14-3 Gay Life." Looking at the Spreaker documentation, it does seem like the lower Spreaker plans allow only blocking top-level categories and the Spreaker "Publisher" plan ($250/month) is required to block the sub-categories. ("Gay Life" is a sub-category of "Society.")
I know the hosts can't be doing the podcast for money (and I appreciate very much that they still do it). The ads that do run can't possibly pay enough to be meaningful, especially when split three ways. Another option is to go back to not having ads. I've been listening to Three Whiskey Happy Hour since the beginning -- Before, even. I remember when Lucretia first appeared on the Power Line Podcast. I would definitely sign up for a <$5 a month subscription to the podcast on, for example, Locals.com (owned by Rumble). But not Patreon.com, which is woke. I don't want any "extra" content, I just want to not hear gay pride ads on my favorite podcast (The Lucretia Show).
John said he did not see any problem with companies promoting gay pride and asked "where's the harm?" Here's the harm, John. The next time I hear a gay pride ad on your podcast (a podcast I've been listening to for years) it will be the last time I listen to your podcast until I learn that you have stopped promoting gay pride on your podcast.
I'm just one listener, so maybe you don't care. But all I can do is follow Lucretia's advice from a month or so again and politely tell you that I'm not going to support you anymore if you continue to allow these ads to run.

I guess I'll need to hire you as our sound engineer because I don't know how to do any of those things on Spreaker (which is still a brand new format for me). The ads are not so much for us to make money (haven't made any yet), but to help defray basic hosting costs, which have been rising along with everything else. If the ads are deal-breaker for you that we'll have to bid adieu. On the other hand, Pride Month is half over.

Re: John Yoo's proposal that President Biden do the magnanimous (or diplomatic or some other high minded adjective) thing and pardon Donald Trump. Biden (and his handlers, hereinafter called "The Office of President Biden") do not have any magnanimous or diplomatic or other noble instincts or interests.
If the Office of President Biden did have even a smidge of interest in magnanimity or diplomacy or nobility, 1) the indictment of a former president on such a marginal charge would not have occurred, and before that, 2) the search warrant on Mar-a-Lago would neither have been sought, nor executed, let alone executed unannounced.
And don't tell me Attorney General Garland could have done these without the knowledge of the Office of President Biden's knowledge and approval. It is impossible for me to believe that an Attorney General (even a relatively stupid one) would do such history-shattering acts against a former president without informing the current president.

Is it, though? It started in May this year, I don't see why it'll stop on June 30.
Again, I appreciate you all doing the podcast. I know a fair amount about podcast production (I did it from a number of years), and the economics involved. If you set up a Locals account, or even publish on Twitter, I'll subscribe (for reasonable $$), as long as there are no ads promoting leftwing ideology.
