Trump’s Peace Deals, How Biden Politicized FEMA, Bureaucrats Bench Bridgewater

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim on Thursday’s 3 Martini Lunch. Join Jon and Greg as they applaud President Trump for securing multiple peace agreements, expose the Biden administration’s blatant politicization of FEMA, and blast a Florida high school for suspending its football coach (a longtime NFL quarterback) for ridiculous reasons. First, they applaud the Trump administration for brokering a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan after a decades-long conflict that involved the appalling slaughter of many Armenians. The deal marks the fourth peace agreement the Trump administration has facilitated this year. Jon and Greg criticize the media for providing so little coverage of these peace agreements and discuss Trump's very different approach to foreign policy. Next, they recoil at reports that the Biden administration's priority at FEMA was to register and mobilize voters rather than providing disaster relief. The reports follow stories from 2024 that FEMA did not contact hurricane victims who had Trump signs in their yards. Finally, they fume as NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was suspended from his high school coaching job for such dastardly acts as paying for Ubers to take his players home through rough neighborhoods, making sure they were well fed, and paying for football camps out of his own pocket. As a result, Bridgewater is now back in the NFL and unable to coach those kids. Leave it to bureaucrats to ruin a good thing.

Trump Wants New Census, AP Sympathizes with Terrorists, Carville’s Crazy Plan to ‘Save Democracy’

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim on Thursday’s 3 Martini Lunch. Join Jon and Greg as they break down President Trump’s call for a new census, the Associated Press portraying terrorists as sympathetic victims, and James Carville’s idea of “saving democracy” through undemocratic means. First, they size up President Trump's call for a new census to be taken that does not include people in the U.S. illegally. Given the huge undertaking of the census, Jon and Greg suggest making sure the 2030 census makes that distinction. They also note that Trump tried to include a citizenship question in the 2020 census but was blocked by the courts. Next, they hammer the Associated Press for publishing a sympathetic piece on Hezbollah terrorists injured in last year’s Israeli pager bombings. The AP even explicitly laments that one Hezbollah terrorist "realizes it's impossible now to find a role alongside Hezbollah fighters" after being blinded by his exploding pager. How did we get to the point where the AP wants us to be sad that this guy can't try to kill Jews anymore? Finally, longtime left-wing political strategist James Carville says that democracy is in danger. So if Democrats win control of the White House, the House, and the Senate in 2028, he wants them to unilaterally add states and pack the Supreme Court. You know, to save democracy. Jon has a far less dramatic suggestion for Democrats.

Cuomo Canceled by the Commie, ICE Intercepts Iranian Illegals, Pelosi’s Preposterous Profits

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim on today's 3 Martini Lunch. Join Jon and Greg as they celebrate the political demise of Andrew Cuomo and shudder at the rise of Zohran Mamdani in New York City. They also focus on ICE taking concerning Iranian illegals into custody, and Nancy Pelosi raking in more millions through very suspicious investments. First, Jon and Greg react to far-left Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani’s decisive win over disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary. They cheer Cuomo’s collapse after scandals involving nursing home COVID deaths, sexual misconduct, and misuse of staff. But they are horrified that Mamdani, an avowed socialist, is now the heavy favorite to become mayor. They chronicle Mamdani's absurd campaign promises, his obvious antipathy towards Israel, and more. Next, they welcome news that ICE has detained 16 Iranian nationals illegally in the U.S. following the airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. One of those nabbed is a former member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who admits connections to Hezbollah. Another was a sniper in the Iranian army. Jon says this is good work by Homeland Security to muzzle a threat before it starts. Finally, they dig into Nancy Pelosi’s latest round of highly suspicious stock trades. The former House Speaker and her husband dumped shares in two major companies just before both were hit with federal investigations. While Pelosi isn’t alone in ethically questionable investing, Jon argues she perfectly embodies why the American people do not trust their government.

Iran’s Weak Response, Trump Fumes Over Shaky Ceasefire, Frost vs. ICE on Trafficking

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim on Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch. Join Jon and Greg as they dig into Iran’s feeble response to U.S. airstrikes, President Trump’s frustration over multiple violations of the Israel-Iran ceasefire, and the latest immigration insanity from Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost. First, Jon and Greg examine Iran’s symbolic missile launch toward a U.S. base in Qatar, an attack Tehran telegraphed in advance to avoid American or Qatari casualties. Jon says this is further proof that Iran is very weak and knows it cannot risk angering the U.S. and further. Next, they react to the rocky start to the Israel-Iran ceasefire. Iran fired more missiles after the ceasefire was supposed to start. Israel responded, despite President Trump urging restraint. They also comment on Trump's obvious frustration with both sides as he met with the press this morning. Finally, they slam Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost for accusing ICE agents of kidnapping and human trafficking. Jon and Greg contrast his inflammatory claims with former Border Patrol chief Tom Homan’s experience with the brutal reality of cartel-run trafficking. Jon also shares firsthand insights from Arizona, detailing the suffering migrants face at the hands of traffickers.

DeSantis Calls Out GOP Leaders, Kirby’s Afghanistan Lies, Tennessee Dems Expelled

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim on this Good Friday edition of the podcast. Join Jon and Greg as they cheer Ron DeSantis for calling out GOP leaders over many years for making conservative promises to voters and then failing to follow through on them. They also unload on White House spokesman John Kirby for trying to blame President Trump for the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle and for claiming he didn't see any chaos during the withdrawal operation. Finally, they react to the expulsion of two Democrats in the Tennessee legislature for leading an extended disruption on the floor of the chamber earlier this week and they address the dubious explanations from Democrats about what really happened.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Join Jon and Greg as they cheer House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and a bipartisan congressional delegation for meeting with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in defiance of Chinese demands and touting the importance of a free Taiwan. They also react to new allegations that CNN's Don Lemon harassed former co-anchor Kyra Phillips back in 2008, including ripping up her photos and papers when she got an assignment that he wanted and for texting threatening messages to her. Finally, they roll their eyes as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. throws his hat into the ring for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination.

North Carolina Supermajority, Midwest Election Misery, Bragg’s Weak Case

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they welcome the news that a Democrat in the North Carolina House of Representatives is planning to switch to the GOP. The move would give Republicans a veto-proof majority in both chambers of the legislature and allow them to bypass the Democratic governor's opposition to school choice and more. They also shudder at two big wins for far left candidates on Tuesday, both in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race and in the Chicago mayor's contest. Finally, they observe legal analysts across the political spectrum suggesting Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has a very weak case against Donald Trump.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they discuss Republicans in the Tennessee State House of Representatives moving to expel three Democrats for collaborating with gun control activists and joining in their protests that disrupted proceedings on the House floor last week. They also hammer DCCC Chairwoman Suzan DelBene and her husband, Kurt, over the leaking of confidential veteran records of several Republican congressional candidates in the 2022 election cycle. Finally, they highlight the importance of today's elections for control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the runoff between Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson in the Chicago mayor's race.

GOP vs. Biden on Energy, Trump Indicted, CBS Silences Reporters

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg discuss the House Republicans passing legislation to encourage more domestic energy production. Plus, they note Majority Leader Steve Scalise calling out Biden for throwing up hurdles to domestic exploration while asking for help from nations that hate us. They also react to a Manhattan grand jury indicting President Trump over details concerning his payments to Stormy Daniels back in 2016. With even the Washington Post editorial board suggesting this is a bad idea, what will be the legal and political fallout now and down the road? Finally, they react to reports saying that CBS News is now telling its reporters not to mention that the Nashville killer was transgender.

Post Mortem and a Retortum

Tuesday was a buzzkill. How bad, exactly? Not sure yet... Arizona's taking its time again. Which makes it the perfect opportunity to have a surprise guest appearance from Ricochet's very own Jon Gabriel, Arizonan and King of all the stuff. Jon breaks down the state's second consecutive election breakdown. He's also got some pleasantly bold predictions! Then we're joined by Luke Thompson, a key advisor for the J.D. Vance campaign. He takes us through his hard fight to get the outsider into the United States Senate, along with thoughts on the midterms as a whole, and some words of caution against tempting unifying theories. The merry trio also find some reassurance in the mess of it all, even if they can't help but lament young people who don't understand good pop culture references...

Arizona’s Vote Counting Debacle, Trump Targets DeSantis, The Worst Promo Ever

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Jon and Greg start out with a tribute to our veterans before digging into why the vote counting in Jon's state of Arizona is infuriatingly slow. Jon explains how conservatives should interpret this delay, why this process breeds distrust in the system, and why the solutions are obvious. They also react to President Trump slamming Ron DeSantis and Glenn Youngkin as his attention shifts to the 2024 campaign. However, they also notice that the Never Trump crowd seems curiously intent on derailing DeSantis more than Trump - almost as if their grifting depends on Trump staying in the spotlight. Finally, they some Marketing 101 tips to KFC after the most cringeworthy promo we've ever seen.

Midterm Miscalculation? CDC’s Lockdown Spying, #NeverConservatives & SCOTUS

Join Greg and Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel as they welcome fundraising and polling news that significantly contradicts the idea that overturning Roe v. Wade will move midterm momentum to the Democrats. They also shudder at reports the CDC as tracking our movements through our cell phones to make sure we were complying with lockdown orders. And they take aim at the Lincoln Project and others who pretended to be conservatives for many years but are now supposedly appalled at the idea of Roe being struck down. Of course it's all just part of their ongoing efforts to fleece liberal donors in the name of opposing the political right.

Roe on the Ropes: The Leak, The Logic, & The Lunatics

Join Greg and Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel as they dissect the leaking of a draft majority opinion that shows a majority of Supreme Court justices prepared to overturn Roe v. Wade. First, they discuss the significant damage the leak may do to the functioning and credibility of the Supreme Court. They also highlight why they hope the draft will be the majority opinion in terms of shifting abortion back to the states and why the pro-life movement clearly has a legal high ground. And they react to some of the most unhinged statements from Democrats in response to the breaking news.

Polls Narrow in NJ, Colluding Against Parents, Legal Rights for Trees?

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg welcome polls showing just a 4-6 point lead for the Democrat in the New Jersey governor's race. They also have plenty to say as emails show the National School Board Association and the Biden administration were in contact well before the NSBA publicly asked for the administration's help in declaring parents domestic terrorists and the Justice Department turned the FBI loose on those same parents. And they have fun with the argument from some on the left that trees need legal rights.

Jon Gabriel: Is Joe Biden Channeling Jimmy Carter?

In this episode of The Dave Carter Show, Ricochet Editor in Chief Jon Gabriel stops by to discuss the disconcerting similarities between the Biden Administration and that of former President Jimmy Carter. With unemployment and inflation on the rise, an emboldened Iran stirring up mischief in a once-again troubled Mideast, gas lines and an emerging energy dependent America that shows signs of weakness abroad and an increasingly centralized government at home, one wonders if bell bottoms and disco can be far behind. Then, longtime Ricochet Member Franco calls in to talk about his latest article, "Moralism by Proxy," and the political implications of policy morality versus personal morality. It's a fascinating discussion you won't want to miss. In fact, you won't want to miss a single minute of this intriguing episode. Finally, if you’re listening to Dave’s show, but you’re not a Ricochet member, there is a way you can get a 30 day free trial membership . Tune in to learn more!

Mailing It In

Is it the dawning of a new era or are we continuing the one we're already in? The answer was not clear when we assembled today at 9AM Pacific Time (the best time zone, as everyone knows), but we do our best to pundit all of the facts we knew when we rolled tape clicked record. But before we start that, Rob Long has a statement he'd like to make. And Peter Robinson has some thoughts on why the race may not really be over. On that topic, we are lucky to have John Yoo, Esq. back on to take us through the myriad election laws on both the state and the Federal level. Then, Arizona native (and Ricochet Editor-In-Chief) Jon Gabriel calls in from his car to explain the finer points of voting with a Sharpie and why that matters and offer his theory on how that state's Presidential race is going to wind up. Finally, we go across the pond to Budapest to tap the mind of one the most cogent political observers we know: John O'Sullivan. From his perch in Budapest, he has a perspective and a point of view that is perceptive and unique.

A Chat With Jon Gabriel

Ricochet’s Editor in Chief makes a visit to Radio Deplorable today, taking time to talk with Dave about everything from coffee cups to future ideas for Ricochet and an assessment of how things are going currently at our favorite website. Along the way, Jon and Dave touch on the Never Trump phenomenon, the fissure between various segments of the right, and some preliminary thoughts on Jonah Goldberg’s new book (which Jon and Dave are probably reading even now). As Dave writes us, ‘what a relaxing and fun conversation!’ We think you’ll agree.
