Why don’t Muslims beat up and/or threaten Han Chinese for brutally oppressing the Muslim Uygurs. It would obviously be evil and racist but wouldn’t it be the same thing as harassing random Jews in New York or London or wherever.

Furthermore the Communist Party of China is much more oppressive to Uyghurs than Israel is with Palestinians. Also the oppression of Uyghurs in China could quite possibly be genocide without having to stretch out the definition so much as to break it.

So… why the difference?

Many people say that Islamic anti-semitism is all about Israel’s mistreatment of the Palestinians the Israeli occupation and so forth. But the Chinese race gets a pass. Of course, Chinese people should not be judged on their race. I am not arguing for any type of bigotry but I am asking why there is such a double standard?

Now most Chinese-Americans tend to hate Communism. In fact some of the most principled anti-communists in America are descendants of people horrifically abused by Mao and his government. Most American Jews are supportive of Israel so there is a difference there. But why aren’t Muslims lobbying to limit the CCP’s influence in America and Britain and everywhere else? That would make sense and it would be a principled position not associated with bigotry.

So why do so many American, British, French and Australian Muslims seem more interested in protesting harassing Jews than in condemning Communists?

I will conclude with an observation made by some book writer on the podcast, The Book Monger. I can’t find the source. I think it was a history book. To paraphrase,

I tell leftists that they are silly because they hate McCarthy more than Stalin. Then they say, “No I don’t hate Stalin more than McCarthy.”

But all they do is complain about McCarthy. They don’t complain about Stalin so why I am I supposed to believed that they are more against Stalin than McCarthy? All they talk about is McCarthy.

Thomas Sowell accurately aid that evil is oxygen when it comes to the human race. But why do people focus on some evils and not on others?

I presume it's because Mohammed directly instructed his followers to persecute Jews. He did not mention Chinese people.

But you bring up a good point. You'd think that Muslims would be a bit cross with the Chinese over that. The Chinese are treating Muslims like the Muslims treat Jews - not well. You'd think that would irritate them a bit.

That may explain a particular vehemence, but not the basic dynamic.

The real answer is a cost-benefit analysis akin to "cheap grace". And thus it also explains why non-Muslims act likewise.

Cost: it's less costly to criticize a relatively civilized person who is in conflict with a relatively uncivilized person, because the former is less likely to kill you for criticizing him.

Benefit: there is more benefit to criticizing the civilized person. It lets you pretend you are better than he is. And it's obvious you are better than the uncivilized person. So you are better than everybody. If you merely criticize the uncivilized person, how can you, as a Johnny Come Lately, pretend you are better than the civilized person?

I am going to be cynical and say it is because China uses money and social media to elevate the Palestinian/ Israel conflict as a distraction from the Uyghurs. It also has a side benefit of undermining the US and the West which is in China's long term geopolitical interests. This Left which also amplifies the Palestinian/ Israel conflict considers China an ally, since it too is broadly anti-US, and anti-Western. This means globally no one cares about the Uyghurs.

Do Muslims hate Jews more than they love fellow Muslims? Maybe they do. The Gazans teach their children, from the crib, that to kill Jews is to seek martyrdom. Hatred seems to be the essence of their life force.

Every major culture on the planet is progressing faster than the Islamic world. Like most of its cultural elements frozen in amber, the obsession with defeating Christendom continues. Aided by oikiphoibc academics and journalists, Muslims living in the West (while in denial that their presence and every breath is an admission of Western superiority) especially hate Israelis because (a) they are proximate and on territory once conquered (b) Mohammed had a special loathing for Arabian Jews he assumed would follow his new cult (c) Israelis are western in politics, technology and culture and (d) they are superior in every respect to Muslims and Muslim nations.

To then have to admit that Hindu-led India is also advancing, that formerly Confucian/Buddhist/Communist China has also surpassed them along with Japan is a cognitive bridge too far.

Part of the confusion is the notion of "sympathy." Muslims are being slaughtered all over the Middle East, oppressed and violent, and alternating between autocracy and chaos. Suddenly "martyrdom" and faux concern emerge only when an infidel enemy is expressly hateable. Also, the Israelis, Europeans, and Americans will not massively punish insults and even small-scale violence. The Chinese and Russians are not so forgiving.
