The New York Times has an article today entitled "The U.S. Is No Longer the Leader of the Free World." It fails to identify who the new leader is, but asserts the case that the leader is no longer the USA because recent events have shown Trump to be too incompetent.

Instead of questioning Trump’s leadership, maybe recent events require a questioning of the followers, not the leader.

Maybe, just maybe, parts of Europe are no longer part of the Free World. Maybe, just maybe, Canada and Australia are no longer part of the Free World. Maybe the Free World should be defined as countries with a fully functioning 1st Amendment equivalent. Maybe the Free World should be defined as countries willing to use military force to protect freedom. Before a country can use military force, it must first finance the construction of a military capable of projecting force outside its borders.

Maybe, just maybe, when push comes to shove, the Free World currently consists of only two countries — the USA and Israel.

Agree completely. There is precious little FREE WORLD left to lead.

Which would definitely exclude the United States, at least from Jan. 20, 2025, onwards.

I guess you haven't heard that the FCC chairman has been threatening networks with the loss of their licenses for broadcasting news insufficiently appreciative and commendatory of the orange imbecile and his failing administration. Only four days ago Trump entered full Lukashenko mode and commanded the FCC and the heads of several government agencies to ensure that networks and other involved organizations broadcast no college football at the same time the Army-Navy Game is played.

Imagine a U.S. president believing he has the authority to dictate what we may and may not watch on our own television sets. Who [REDACTED] does he think he is, and why is this deluded wannabe monarch not in a hospital for the criminally insane?

I think any country that has succumbed to an "Islamic invastion" is off the list--not only because of the influence of Muslims in their countries, but because of their countries' unwillingness to enforce legitimate rights and hold lawbreakers accountable, but also their willingness to subjugate their citizens to ridiculous laws.

Translation: Someone is finally noticing the overwhelming pro-Democrat bias in the MSM, and with good reason.

Oh, the horror! The First Amendment is doomed.

Great point. It looks like several South American countries are stepping up and joining the Free World, as well. Maybe Japan and Taiwan?
