Calling a Hitler a Hitler

Near the bottom of page 38 of my list of things Democrats have ruined is “Hitler Analogies.” After decades of calling every breathing Republican a Hitler of some type, the adjective has lost its power. This is unfortunate, as it was valuable to have a unifying symbol of evil. Everyone could agree that Hitler had to be toppled and killed, no matter what the cost in blood or treasure. That was why the Democrats abused his name for short-term political advantage.

Today, Hitler is a vague historical figure that people assume was pretty bad for unspecified reasons.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Hitler was a singularly horrible monster. He poured all of Germany’s economic might into creating a large modern military and then used that military to violently invade all of continental Europe. Once conquered, Hitler ruled his conquests with ruthless brutality and death. He ruled Germany itself with ruthless brutality and death. Between his conquests and his defeats, over 10 million Europeans died in Hitler’s war.

Hitler was not the first conqueror to cause millions to die, but Hitler was not content with merely killing millions of civilians and soldiers in war. Hitler was the premier racist on earth. He thought white supremacy was a little too inclusive, instead seeking world domination for the Aryan race. (Germans and Austrians were Aryan. He invited the British to become Aryan, but Churchill declined the invitation.) His hatred for all other races was strong, but he reserved his greatest hate for Jews. Any Jews his henchmen could find throughout Europe were arrested, loaded into boxcar trains, and sent to extermination camps where they were systematically murdered. In a few short years, Hitler executed over 6 million European Jews.

Shame on Democrats for ever using the word Hitler (or Nazi, or Gestapo, or Brownshirts, or SS, or stormtroopers, or Himmler, or Goring, or Goebbels) in any sentence regarding Republicans. Shame on anyone comparing anyone to Hitler in a casual, unserious fashion.

The recently deceased Supreme Leader of Iran was a 21st-century Hitler. He ruled Iran with brutality and death. He focused all the oil wealth of Iran on supporting military forces focused on the destruction of Israel and the death of Jews. He was obsessed with acquiring nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles able to deliver nuclear weapons against Israel and America. The IRGC was, and is, a 21st-century Nazi Party.

In a world able to properly identify post-Hitler Hitlers, the entire world would recognize that the Iranian Supreme Leader had to be toppled and killed regardless of the cost in blood or treasure. Now that he is dead, the IRGC must be toppled and killed regardless of the cost in blood and treasure. Unsurprisingly, Israel recognizes this and stands ready. Trump recognizes this and stands ready. Republicans recognize this and stand ready. Europe recognizes this, but hasn’t the ability to stand.

The only holdouts, ironically, are those who have spent decades pledging to fight tooth and nail against the Hitlers in the Republican Party. With a lonely exception (Fetterman), the Democrats are unable to call true living, breathing Nazis the Nazis they are. If they would do that, if they would forthrightly state that the toppling and death of the IRGC is a global necessity regardless of cost, everything changes. If they did that, the future cost of blood and treasure would decrease dramatically.

Instead, Democrats assert that paying 6 dollars for gas is too great a cost to endure. Instead, the IRGC cowers in their bunkers, clinging to the hope that Trump will back down due to American political pressure from Democrats — their only friends.

And our leftists are far closer to Hitler and his goals than the center or "right" ever have been. But they will never see the truth of it.

Tragically, mentally unstable people really believe Republicans (especially Republican presidents) are Hitler and legitimate targets for assassination.

To quote Norm MacDonald, "The more I hear about this Hitler fella, the less I like him."

He killed almost as many people as Stalin did.

Somewhere along the way in the last quarter century or so, the Hitler comparisons moved from being grotesque insults to which only a few mentally unstable people would react with violence, to an intentional tool to justify and to encourage political violence.

Remember, we now live in a country in which a non-trivial portion of people who call themselves "leftists" or "liberals" (in some of the younger demographics, up to 25%, and maybe more) believe that violence is an acceptable path to political ends.

Calling someone "Hitler" or "Nazi" or "Gestapo" or any of the associated names is an effective tool to encourage those people to engage in violence, including murder or assassination.
