President Trump never rests. It may be Sunday, but "Never on Sunday" is not a Trump saying. Today, the European Union has reached an agreement on a trade deal with the United States. A lot of smart people who love our country are rightfully upset with the recent Big Beautiful Bill for spending too much money, especially with the huge debt our politicians have incurred. Trump looks at the problem and instinctively understands that cutting enough spending to lessen that debt would be used by Democrats and even some Republicans as a hammer to nail the next election.

But there is an alternative: If you want to spend a lot of money, you need to earn even more money, or you will go broke. Before Trump is finished with the trade negotiations, the USA will be earning almost two trillion dollars annually with tariffs, most certainly if one adds the promised investments from other countries into our economy. I call it a win, don't you?

The self- proclaimed “conservatives” are willing to ignore all the winning because he hasn’t cut spending. They never name the cuts that should be made. Yes, we spend too much but there are two problems, the non-discretionary spending (entitlements) and the cuts must start in Congress. It is obvious to Trump that Congress is, as PJ O’Rourke called it , a “Parlement of Whores.” they are all pigs at the trough. That isn't Trump's fault. So, if we are not going to use fiscal responsibility to reduce the problem, the only alternative is to grow the economy. One has to look no further than the hatred Musk and DOGE received for identifying where cuts can be made.

Parliament of Whores but let's be real. It's not just those that have been elected that have a problem making these necessary cuts. The people that elected them aren't prepared to actually make those cuts either which is the main reason that these folks won't stick their necks out and do it.

It is hard to wean people from their freebies. Once handed out, it’s a B to get it back.
