It's the day before Election Day (or in California, Election Month-or-So), and the warped and devious charlatan Tucker Carlson has baselessly announced that Israel is prodding President Trump to drop a nuclear bomb on Iran. It's not enough that Carlson has attacked the legacy of Charlie Kirk or openly supported Michigan Islamist and Democrat candidate for Senate Abdul El-Sayed. Now Carlson is making headlines internationally for his outrageous and unhinged claim about a potential nuclear strike on Iran.
So, will Vice President J.D. Vance finally speak up and disavow Carlson? Or will he continue to avoid calling out his friend for his lies and deceit? (El-Sayed, Carlson's choice for Michigan's next Senator, also insulted Vance's wife.)The longer Vance dodges pressure to address Carlson's claims, the more the smart money moves to Marco Rubio as the presidential candidate in '28.
Time to show some backbone, Mr. Vice President. Time to exercise some sound judgment.

I can't imagine why Vance lets these kinds of comments go. Does he really still consider Carlson his friend?

Not sure I would object to that, if we could plausibly deny it was us.

A perfectly appropriate image.

Tucker is two tacos short of a combination plate, yes. Should Vance publicly address it? Not sure that's helpful. What Vance, Rubio, Bessent, et al, are doing is advancing Trump's return to Hamilton's American System, and doing it quite well. Are an impactful number of conservatives choosing not to vote for republicans in the midterms because Vance won't publicly admit that his friend is goofy? If that's the case, maybe we really are done for.

I don't think Carlson's deceit is having any measurable effect on the Mid-Terms - though the timing of this latest assertion is deliberately meant to damage the credibility of the administration in its efforts to eliminate the threat that Iran poses. My concern is looking forward to '28 and whether Vance has the backbone and judgement to disavow the dishonest and unhinged rants from someone he has called a friend. Failure to do so, demonstrates a lack of judgement and resolve - two critical attributes for someone who wants to be an effective president.
