Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
About once per week, I leave my cave and get out in the world to experience all of the bad drivers and crazy people outside my cave. As I was driving back home from my appointment, I saw a billboard. It was an electronic billboard that often has ads for legal cannabis. But this time, it had headshots of two women and an Israeli flag. The only part I could read said, "The Pro-Israel Team You Can Trust." One of the women looked like Kamala Harris. That could not be right. She's about as pro-Israel as I am pro-gluten. I was hoping the sign would not change for long enough for the light to change and for me to move forward and see it better, and it was indeed touting Kamala Harris and Elissa Slotkin, the Totalitarian Party candidate for US Senate.
What the what? Thus, I went searching. Here is one article. Apparently these ads are being run by a PAC that is supposedly tied to Elon Musk. Now, that connection was reported by the MSM, so no guarantees it is true. But if so, this is hilarious. They are tying the Democrats to Israel here in Michigan, home of a rather large Muslim population. If this is trolling, I don't know how well it will work, but it surely gave me pause, and once I knew, quite the laugh.
Carry on, Elon, or whoever is doing it. Carry on. We'll accept it down here under the bridge.

In Wisconsin, Sen. Tammy Baldwin is campaigning for "Trump-Tammy" voters, which is mighty big-hearted of her, considering in 2016 she said "Donald Trump might be one of the most offensive, hateful and unacceptable presidential candidates we've ever had. So what does that say about the people who support him?"
Kinda hard walking that tightrope isn't it, Tammy?

In principle, so am I. But this is very interesting. I am sure that Kamala would agree that she is Pro-Israel in front of a group of Jews. Is she going to deny it in public? It seems as if it costs either way.

When I was 12, I was one of the kids dropping leaflets on neighborhood doorsteps for Sen. Kenneth Keating, mentioned in one of this week's R> posts about the Cuban Missile Crisis. I got to meet Keating at a mobbed street event; a more-than-decent guy, with the unhappy fate of running against popular, newly minted New Yorker Bobby Kennedy in the year after JFK's assassination.
And the unhappier fate of being on the ballot with Barry Goldwater, highly unpopular in NYC. So all his literature pushed "Vote LBJ-Keating".
