Listening to the Commentary podcast Monday, John Podhoretz recommended an article he had read in the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles. The article describes the manner in which Muslim organizations spread their message of anti-Israel and antisemitism through our culture and those of Europe. I read the article, which wasn't very long, and very concise. It essentially documents what I have long believed to be the case. It is a good read, and I look forward to reading the comments of others on this forum who read it.

This post was promoted to the Main Feed at the recommendation of Ricochet's members.

He couldn't have been the only one who knew this was coming. Why are we hearing about this now, finally? We were so willing to simply blame the universities and their Marxist professors, but the propagandists were a much larger group. This is awful.

The Inside Story of How Palestinians Took Over the World (jewishjournal.com)

In the early 1980s at my university, there were Arab groups doing what today would be called "push polls" about the Middle East situation. They considered trivial details such as the Holocaust to be a distraction.

I read that this morning, and was fascinated.

Then I discovered that a mastermind of the October 7 attacks, Gaza Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was sentenced to several life sentences for orchestrating the deaths of Israeli soldiers and four Palestinians he determined were "collaborators " (I went in search of the details and they're quite nasty, as is most of this unspeakable thug's criminal history), was part of a prisoner exchange in 2011 in which he and over a thousand other jailed Palestinians (over a quarter of whom were serving life sentences for terror attacks against Israel) were released to secure the return of a single Israeli soldier who had been held captive by Hamas for over five years.

Three years before Sinwar was released by Israel, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and was operated on by Israeli doctors, undoubtedly saving his life.

And I wonder how that experience plays into Israel's response now.

    He must die.
