Well, the media is having their field day now.

The only surprising thing to me was that it took the jury this long to find a verdict. I thought that just 2 hours would be required. As this drug on into the second day of deliberations, I wondered if one or two jurors were actually going to stand their ground due to the way the trial was run. But nope. The fix was in from the get-go and now the Biden campaign will start with non-stop "convicted felon" blather, despite the likelihood that this will be overturned on appeal.

Well, I say that, because one would assume that the decision will be overturned, but perhaps it won't be. It certainly won't be soon. Assuming it has to go to the NY Supreme Court first, then to the US Court of Appeals, and then on to SCOTUS, it might be finalized around the time that the next Presidential election is getting close to a vote...maybe even longer.

So, President Biden and the Propaganda Press have their win, and damn the consequences. Honestly, I want Ken Paxton to file corruption charges against Biden as soon as he can (either Jan 21 of 25 or, heaven-forbid, Jan 21 of 29. Mollie Hemingway asked on her podcast yesterday where the GOP leadership is on this. She noted that John Thune (SD-Establishment) could not answer the question of whether he would vote for Trump if he were convicted. That should have been an easy question to answer. That he could not easily give such an answer tells us a great deal about him and what is so wrong with the GOP.

I doubt that this verdict, or the two cases in NY — the 30+-year-old sexual assault civil case or Leticia James' inflated real estate civil case — have changed any votes, but is there anyone on R> who honestly was going to vote for Trump and now will not? Is there anyone who was not planning on voting for Trump and now will? I suspect there are more of the latter than the former, but let's conduct a survey. I'll add the first three comments and we shall see.

This seems like a huge news story, but it might not be. The sentencing day will be more important and the verdict news might be out of the cycle by Saturday.

I suspect the headlines Trump generates over the next several days will be more important.
