Have you paid close attention to the damage Trump has promised to inflict on the federal government? Unlike the Left’s accusations, Trump doesn’t plan to “destroy democracy"; instead he wants to stop the attacks on our republic before the damage gets worse. When I began to think over the situation, I realized that every federal employee, whether on the Left or Right, must be trembling in his or her boots at the prospect of Trump becoming president. This time around, Trump is much better prepared to go after the bureaucracy, has hopefully learned from his mistakes, and is loaded for bear.

My own guess is that no agency will be left untouched. Even a cursory review of this list shows his intentions. For example, Mayorkas and his minions at the Department of Homeland Security will be fired early on, and the policies that Trump had enacted earlier will be reset. He will also fight the Soros prosecutors who have abused the law, and rid the government of corrupt players through executive orders:

‘We will clean out all of the corrupt actors in our National Security and Intelligence apparatus, and there are plenty of them,’ Trump said. ‘The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled so that faceless bureaucrats will never again be able to target and persecute conservatives, Christians, or the left’s political enemies.’

He plans to prohibit gender-affirming care, roll back electric vehicle rules, reduce tax rates, increase natural gas imports, dismantle the Department of Education, and protect the firearms industry. I especially appreciate his targeting of all federal agencies that have been called to focus on equity:

‘I will create a special team to rapidly review every action taken by federal agencies under Biden’s ‘equity’ agenda that will need to be reversed. We will reverse almost all of them,’ Trump said in a campaign video.

Trump added in multiple campaign videos that he would revoke Biden’s equity executive order that required federal agencies to deliver equitable outcomes in policy and conduct equity training. If elected, Trump said he would also fire staffers hired to implement Biden’s policy, and then reinstate his 2020 executive order banning racial and sexual stereotyping in the federal government.

Is it any surprise that government at all levels is quaking in its boots and that they see Trump as a significant threat?

Making all these changes will be extremely difficult for Trump. The agencies and their directors will fight him tooth and nail. Those prosecutors at the state level will cry out that he doesn’t have the authority to take action against them. Everyone will try to tie up these changes in the courts for years.

I must admit that I am uncomfortable with weaponizing the Executive Branch, rather than being able to trust our legislators (who have mostly been feckless) to correct our course.

But for once, the Republicans and Trump, who recognize the mountain he will have to climb to be successful, are prepared to take on the Left. And the government minions fear all of us because we can empower Trump to do it.

This isn’t about getting revenge.

It’s about saving our country.

Trump is coming for them. He is being sent by We the People.

    To the Deep State:

The jig is up, sports fans. The con is blown. The grift didn't hold. The wind down will be epic. Ragnarök rather than Armageddon. Future employment will depend on the Doomsday file that any bureaucrat worth his or her paycheck has been compiling on his or her superiors all these years.

You have been keeping the receipts, right?

Much as I agree with the plan and much as I want Trump et al. to carry it out, we should nor kid ourselves as to its complete success. There needs to a very strong federalism component because like weeds the ideology is deeply embedded and will spring forth again when conditions are favorable. When that happens only a weakened central government will preserve us.

I would love to have the states involved. That's the way the system should have worked. My hope is that Trump would turn many decisions, like education, back to the states. We need that ultimately to regain our strength.

Don't forget the media and the way they will frame the story. Anything that Trump does which has an echo of Obama/Biden will be viewed as 'the end of democracy'

For some good information on this topic, check out a recent Radio Free Hillsdale Hour podcast episode. "Host Scot Bertram talks with Mark Moyar, the William P. Harris Chair of Military History at Hillsdale College, who provides an insider’s view of the federal bureaucracy’s corruption and its failures to protect employees from retaliation, as detailed in his new book, Masters of Corruption: How the Federal Bureaucracy Sabotaged the Trump Presidency." The interview was good and I'm sure the book will be a good read as well.
