Christmas greetings from all of us at Ricochet!

If you're just visiting us or you're a long time member, you are all the reason we do what we do. 2024 portends to be a momentous year and we hope you'll take us along for the ride - not just for the politics, but for all the tears, the triumphs, the joys, the sorrows, everything that makes us all human and makes this place a community.

The changes here are being made everyday, the majority of which you cannot yet see but we hope you've felt. About 75% of the code that runs our site has already been replaced and streamlined.

As usual the week between Christmas and the New Year will be a little bit slower than normal. Many of our podcasters are taking the week off for a much needed respite. That makes our member posts and our community even more important.

We'll see you next year!

Charles, John, Rob, Peter, James, Brian and Perry

Thank you for throwing open the doors of a home for us who often feel we have none. Ricochet — which means to say the people behind it, those holding it up from beneath the crawl space, and fellow travelers and members — is one of the blessings I am most grateful for this year and every year. Merry Christmas.

It is hard to do better than the preceeding comments. They really say it all. This has been a place that I have enjoyed visiting several times a day, everyday for several years. It has remained civil and friendly even when we disagree. That makes it a very special place. I don't write posts very often, but when I have, and I will admit to feeling a bit inadequate compared many of our members, I have invariably been made to feel respected in a way that I could never expect anywhere else on the web. This is a place that deserves the kind of esteem that has mistakenly been granted to Ivy League schools where the conversations are likely a lot less erudite. I love Ricochet. I can't say much more than that. A very Merry Christmas to all and my deepest wish for all our members to have a wonderful and successful New Year.
