Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
The Ayatollahs of Albany and the City of New York have been asked not to attend Ground Zero’s 25th anniversary 9/11 commemoration.
Retired Port Authority police officers are demanding that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Gov. Kathy Hochul skip Ground Zero’s 25th anniversary 9/11 commemoration, saying their attendance would inflict "deep pain" on victims’ families, survivors and first responders.
In separate letters dated Aug. 14, John McDevitt, president of the Port Authority Retired Police Association, urged the two Democrats not to attend the Sept. 11 ceremony at the site of the deadliest terror attack in U.S. history.
Gov. Hochul and Mayor Mamdani are planning to go despite their lack of support for law enforcement in New York. Hochul is busy threatening elected sheriffs against cooperating with ICE to deport criminals committing crimes in New York and fighting with Catholic nuns that provide hospice care and refuse to participate in assisted suicide.
Mamdani is busy as well. Though ignoring run-of-the-mill criminals in the city, he's appointing a supporter of a convicted al-Qaeda tanker bombing plot to NYC Chief Counsel and endorsing candidates who've said America deserved the attack on 9/11.
For seating, I would suggest a small roped-off area with no microphone behind the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 for the two Ayatollahs. As is the want of clowns, they will not pass up the chance to perform, including a memorial service.

I am ambivalent about this. On the one hand, they both have forfeited the right to be there by their actions and incredibly stupid comments. On the other hand, I understand that politicians are not allowed to speak at the service. So I would support them standing off in a corner with tape on their mouths.

If CAIR asked them not to come because commemoration of 9/11 brings attention to the fundamental unreconcilable sickness of Islam, they would stay home. Families of victims and first responders don't rate equal consideration.

Until we get rid of lobbyists, the American public is waking up to the idea that we do not really have elections.
And since our power at the polling place has been so extremely diluted by the power of lobbyists, that our voting matters so little, there doesn't seem to be a way out of the mess we are in.
One side of the aisle currently is pro-Israel. The other side is pro-Muslim, and pro-extremist Muslim to boot.
By Nov 2028, it is not hard to imagine that the extremist Muslim side of things will have an AMPAC to help them win elections.
Where does this situation leave us real breathing born-in-America Americans who want our side of things represented? Ask this question of the people in office who are of the pro-Israel side of things and we are told to "Shut Up, White Supremacists". (Even though born-in-America Americans are of all races, creeds and skin colors.)
Ask the question of the pro-Muslim side of the equation, and the answer that is thrown in our faces is "Muslim lives matter."
