Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
I work for a big company, I'd say 90% of us work from home. This big company has all sorts of "interest" groups (I don't mean to say "special interest") whereby groups of employees may meet virtually every month or whenever to discuss common interest, worries, etc. There's a group centered around neuro-divergency (think autism), another regarding 12-step/ addiction issues, etc.
I joined the one regarding mental illness: I've been medicine-dependent for 31 years, since sophomore year of college, to what was then called Severe Clinical Depression and now (I believe) called Major Depressive Disorder. The several-dozen members of this group meet each month and have a sort of members-only chat tool to open up about worries, triggers, asking questions, etc. Many have physiological depression or anxiety, others have had, others psychological issues, etc.
Today, an obviously intelligent and educated woman (based on her job description) mentioned that she was feeling really bad today because of what all had "happened" this week. Common enough...there'd been dozens of such non-specifically-political euphemisms yesterday & today (Wednesday & Thursday). Then she unburdened herself as to specifically why:
(Paraphrasing) "Question for everyone: do you think I'll have access to birth-control next year? I'm worried that it'll be taken away in the first months of the new year....."
This was followed-up by others in the group mentioning having the same or similar worries...some mentioned requesting and hoarding supplies of the pill as if it were toilet paper circa March 31, 2020, others had discussions about researching more permanent methods of 'BC' (as it was commonly referred to) since now the unthinkable & unmentionable has happened.....
What lies have these women (and the original poster addressed her question to women specifically for responses) been told? What imbecility have they embraced? What willful ignorance have they accepted?
I'd say it's unbelievable....but it's not.
And these fools are allowed to vote.
I left the chat group. Depending upon everyone's behavior at the next monthly meeting, I may quit the whole group, too.

Everyone is prone to being scammed. A snow-job rests on finding the mark's psychological exploits and leveraging them to the hilt. This can be done to Conservatives and Liberals alike (think QAnon), so I wouldn't get too condescending. It is better to spend more energy on not letting yourself get snowed.
That being said, Feminism has spent over a half-century indoctrinating women in a Marxist worldview, with men as the oppressor class. They have often done this with the complicity of Conservatives, especially those who made "Common Cause" with feminists. This makes women easy marks for the type of conspiracy you mention.

Two of my wife's friends visited her Tuesday for coffee and yackety-yack. They both said that they had voted for pro-abortion candidates because they expected the Republicans to definitively outlaw abortions in all circumstances, including when it would be necessary to save the life of the mother. I marvel at the reach of the lie.

But lies would be useless without gullible people to believe them.

Good post, reporting from a specific corner of the culture that doesn't always have the cameras pointed at it. It sure looks like an honest snapshot right now.

It is such a hive mind. The Dems are good at frightening their supporters. I am not surprised that since women's rights are one of the top 2 concerns of young progressive women, then using the notion of a ban on birth control would definitely overwhelm this demographic.
Young women are focused on reproductive rights and having a "sustainable" future. The old Dem Party lie that "A Republican candidate will end Social Security" wouldn't capture their imaginations, so that falsehood has been put on the back burner.
