The MSM is abuzz with this story. Apparently the 30-something singer was on some podcast or other and tore into Trump supporters. I don't know why, because the data is abundantly clear. "YES!!!" I suppose it is illustrative of the left-wing elitist bubble, but if we look at a genuine kitchen-table metric that directly impacts the lives of regular working Americans, Trump wins by a mile.

EMPLOYED FULL TIME. MEDIAN WEEKLY REAL EARNINGS. That is, inflation-adjusted earnings for the median full-time employed American. The data are available in the Fed's friendly FRED database. They are expressed in constant 1984 dollars, making direct comparisons between time periods possible. What do the numbers show?

President Start End Change

Reagan: 314 323 +9

Bush 1: 323 315 -8

Clinton: 315 333 +18

Bush 2: 333 345 +12

Obama: 345 352 +7

Trump 1: 352 373 +21

Biden: 373 373 0

Trump 2: 373 376 +3 (only 2 quarters available so far)

I'm guessing that our neverTrumpers will have an excellent "yes, but..."

Mortgage rates are coming down and the housing market is showing signs of life. The biggest problem is all the blue states that have their foot on the brake.

How is it that ol’ Joe’s data shows no - zero - change beginning to end. How likely is that. Sheesh.

    Happy to oblige.

My economic position got significantly worse under Biden

It has not improved ( although not gotten much worse ) under. Trump 2.

I will give Trump2 credit for slowing the bleeding.
