From The Daily Caller (emphasis mine):

U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis, appointed to the bench in Illinois by the Obama administration, ordered Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino on Tuesday to report to her daily over immigration enforcement operations in The Windy City, according to multiple reports.

The judge was apparently upset that Bovino ordered the use of non-lethal tear gas to control the violent protestors. During this same operation in Chicago, Chief Bovino was struck in the head by a projectile and his officers were assaulted with other projectiles from an angry crowd as they attempted to enforce federal immigration law. A bounty of $10,000 has also been placed on Bovino's head by a member of the Latin Kings gang. This last bit of information was not mentioned or addressed by Judge Ellis in her courtroom, though one hopes that she does occasionally keep up with current events.

There is no apparent requirement for judges to ride along with law enforcement prior to being appointed to the bench. But perhaps there should be. There is nothing preventing Judge Ellis right now from riding along with Border Patrol officers or with ICE to see for herself what these officers have to deal with firsthand, rather than relying on hearsay accounts from third parties, protesters, the ACLU, or from very slanted media accounts.

Of course, sitting in a comfy leather chair in her climate-controlled courtroom where there is little chance of projectiles - rocks, bottles, fireworks, cinderblocks, chunks of concrete, or Molotov cocktails - being tossed in her general direction is much more preferable than witnessing firsthand the violence that Bovino and his officers have to deal with. One could hazard a guess that Judge Ellis knows exactly what Border Patrol officers are facing everyday as they deal with violent crowds while bounties are put on their heads, while they are doxxed, while they are being followed home by protesters, while their families are threatened - but she chooses to ignore and dismiss it all because her own political agenda, dare I say it, trumps the truth.

Great idea - they should be required to ride with the people who do the job - and poor Chief Bovino - that job is a nightmare!

This border issue is a nightmare!

Not only were protestors complaining, but journalists joined in, too. What a group!

Judges are sick of being lied to or ignored by the Trump administration. See this Ruth Marcus article published in the New Yorker: Has Trump’s Legal Strategy Backfired? Federal judges do not take well to being lied to or treated, as one put it, like idiots. It was published in April, but it's likely the OI's win/loss ratio has only got worse for him since then.

Trump's continuous assault on the independence and integrity of federal judges and repeatedly having his lawyers lie to them isn't having the results he desires. Shocking, I know.

None of this addresses anything mentioned in the post, with the exception of substantiating that there are very slanted media accounts that play fast and loose with the truth about judicial overreach and bias. Try harder.
