Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Eradicate. Destroy. Annihilate. Obliterate. Liquidate.
Rabbi Dov Fischer, far and away one of my favorite analysts and essayists, has published a most thought-provoking article entitled What Israel Needs to do Now and subtitled, most importantly, If the thoughts expressed below seem severe, the situation is severe. He is, as one can easily determine by reading his bio at the link, uniquely qualified to expound on the subject, as he sets out in the opening paragraph:
I am an American. I also am a Jew. All Jews with Jewish souls are Zionists. Enough ink has been spilled in my columns these past eight years about Jewish apostates who do not follow that program. Not today. They are not worth it. And I write also for so many Christians who are Zionists because: (i) The right of Jews to a country in the Promised Land is right; (ii) Arab Muslim claims there are phony; (iii) America needs a Jewish Israel no less than does Jewish Israel need America; and (iv) the Bible could not be more clear in Genesis 12:3 and so many other places that G-d will bless our America as long as we are on His side. Again: It is never about whether “G-d is on our side” but whether we are on His side.
After sketching the outline of the atrocities Israel has seen in the last few days, he notes the sad record we have built up under several Presidents of “reliability” as a “friend,” especially the most anti-Semitic President in our history, Hussein Obama:
In response, while crafting her military defenses, Israel always has feared that American promises cannot be trusted. South Vietnam, our American ally, was wiped off the map. Remember the helicopters in Miss Saigon? We sold them out. And remember the helicopters in Afghanistan? We sold them out, too. And we sold out our allies and interpreters and spies in Iraq, as we did in South Vietnam, Afghanistan, and other places that relied haplessly on our guarantees. The Israelis know what American guarantees are worth. Biden just sent $6 billion to Iran. Everyone knew that money would be going to Hamas and Hezbollah to make attacks like these possible. And so it did.
Rabbi Fischer then proceeds to outline 11 steps that Israel must take if it is to be permanently free of the pestilence represented by human animals so evil they decapitated infants; here are just a few of them. I would also note that while anyone is entitled to express their opinions about anything said here either by me or the Rabbi, please do not waste your time or mine in saying it is inappropriate to call Hamas “animals.” That is exactly what they are, and as one whose life now includes a magnificent little puppy, it is an insult to animals to group them with these savages. Here are a few of the Rabbi’s suggestions to Israel:
- It is imperative, if Israel is capable of doing so, that it exterminate Hamas. Again: exterminate. Leave nothing behind of Hamas. Not even dental records.
- It is imperative, if Israel is capable of doing so, that it exterminate Islamic Jihad. Again: exterminate.
- It is imperative, if Israel is capable of doing so, that it target all Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders and exterminate them.
- Any such leaders who are in hiding must be exterminated as soon as they are found, even 20 years from now.
- This would never have happened if Netanyahu and Israel had fought a previous Hamas War to victory instead of just “mowing the lawn.”
- Israel should not — and must not — go out of its way to kill even one single Arab civilian “innocent” in an act of revenge, but Israel must not hesitate to kill and exterminate every single terrorist and terror objective, even if it necessitates the collateral loss of thousands of civilians. Arab Muslim terrorists base themselves in apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, mosques, ambulances, and other profoundly civilian non-combatant locations. Each such site must be deemed fair game for utter elimination, and no civilian’s presence can justify refraining from exterminating every terror site in Gaza. Moreover, Hamas controls Gaza because the population of Gaza have voted for them repeatedly. They are no more innocent than German voters in Dresden who elected Hitler.
I cannot possibly recommend this entire essay too highly; it is an invaluable piece and represents what should be done at this indescribably grotesque time in our history. I just hope that the leadership of Israel follows the Rabbi’s guidance and does not, once again, fall under the influence of the pusillanimous cowards of the Biden-Blinken-Sullivan team of “Peace in our Time” sycophants.
The masterful analyst and cartoonist, Micheal Ramirez, offers this graphic portrayal of the depths of depravity Hamas represents:
Pray for Israel.

Bob, as a partial answer, I offer these words from the post I just put up about sleeper cells coming over the southern border:
And we have a White House press spokesman who served in our military as an Admiral in the U.S. Navy who disgraced his star by crying on live TV yesterday. Not to mention the other one who is as dumb as a box of rocks.
Not much hope for the kind of swift action we had come to know and admire from the President who I hope will succeed this bunch of escapees from an insane asylum and/or assisted living facility, take your pick.

That's what worries me. Fifteen months until we can do what I think is necessary. Even facing that we have minds to change. I hope that what we can see that the Israeli intelligence service did and caused to their country is what has been done here sinks in with our voters. Does that sentence make sense?

Here's a piece I just saw on Twitter; easy enough for the Doubting Thomases to snicker these are conspiracy theories until they parachute into your back yard:
