I have noticed that there seems to be a distinct lack of online celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence that happens this year. People seem to be focused on what's going on in the Trump administration, Europe, and within the increasingly insane Democratic party, and neglecting the big anniversary of America.
On my personal blog, I have decided to do a series of posts on the lesser-known signers of the Declaration of Independence, so people can learn about the widely-varied signers. Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, and the other northern colonies’ representatives seem to get all the notice, when there are so many others who deserve notice too. My first post is on Button Gwinnett of Georgia, and may be found here.
Who should I do next? Any suggestions?
I found a delightful White House site that has the bios of all the signers, with pictures. That's where I'm getting my information.

A very worthy effort! I read your blog and also looked up Button Gwinnett on line. An interesting man and an interesting name.
I look forward to the next installments.
For you next one, how about Josiah Bartlett? A physician and future governor of New Hampshire.

So, even after "struggles with His merchant business," He was still financially capable of buying an island.

I want to learn more about the only Catholic signer. How the founders thought about Catholics interests me.

Great idea. I read a book on this once, and was surprised at how many other brilliant men were involved. Like you said, we always hear about a handful of them.
