Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
It's possible that Newsom initially enjoyed hearing that the great state of Minnesota was being the focus of intense scrutiny, as it kept peering eyes away from investigating him.
But there is simply too much grift here in California to stop the scrutiny from bearing down on him.
The governor has some type of inner programming that makes him especially adept at bringing the full force of state regulations down upon a plethora of minor activities. Take eating, for example. Examine the hapless and innocent lunchtime consumer. If that individual doesn't realize that to get the sandwich or hamburger with mayo on it, he must tell the waitress as she takes their order. Otherwise your food will come without it, and good luck at receiving a side of it before your burger is cold.
He also helped oversee changes to our drinking utensils. Where before we had plastic straws wrapped in a thin paper sheath available with fast food orders, now those have been banned. Instead we have paper straws wrapped in plastic sheathing. That was about the environment, don't you know?
It was also about the environment when the State of California ordered the reservoir near LA to be drained of its water supply, with the water being directed to a nearby river and its creeks. That way, those unreliable waterways would be water-saturated to help out a tiny, about-to-be-extinct marine animal. (A smelt or something, I forget.)
What I can't forget is that due to this reservoir being close to empty, when the January 2025 fire roared through the Palisades and some ten other communities inside LA, there was less water to help firefighters put out the blazes. Some 14,000 to 20,000 structures burned, many being homes and businesses. But, hey! The smelt was not affected, so good news for all Californian enviro-activists - except for those who lost their homes.
Now it is true that some news sources claim it had nothing to do with saving an almost extinct species. The NY Post, for example, did a story on how the reservoir needed repairs. It was, according to the piece, sitting empty while awaiting renovation as the fires raged across LA. Nonetheless, both Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass are the defendants in lawsuits over the matter of the fires not being handled properly.
I am not sure how Newsom thinks or feels about the mess that he is in. Nor do I know what he will do about any of it, other than continue his campaign for the Oval Office. But a graphic artist showed one possibility:
We Californians tried to recall the guy, but since each effort was made while drop boxes for ballots were part of the election grift, we still have him running the Golden State into the ground. Prayers are needed so that whatever grand political ambitions he has will be torched, just as the Palisades remain today. Of the 14 to 20 thousand homes destroyed in the fires, a total of 15 homeowners have received permission from the planning commission allowing them to go ahead and rebuild. All the crooks and fraudsters of Minnesota combined would have trouble keeping up with California's one-man scam.

If we think that Minnesota is a giant pile of fraud... Wait till we examine California, Chicago, NY & NYC...
Wonder why the most expensive school districts in America (if not the world) produce illiterate graduates? fraud - years and years of unbroken unexamined fraud...
How many decades and how many billions have they spent on high speed rail, and not 1 foot of track is laid? How can that be, other than fraud?

I've heard about these other regulations, but what is this about? Are California restaurants now being prohibited from including mayonnaise as a standard condiment? Do you have a link to a news article about California mayonnaise restrictions?

If Newsom proposed building a high-speed rail system leading out of the state, it would be up and running in less than a year . . .
Update: It could be privately funded by U-Haul . . .

That seems apt to me. Why include a condiment that the diner does not desire?

Here is an incredible scheme that Newsom and Dem leaders stitched together. The cost of ambulance services was artificially raised by 400% so that the state could then pester the Fed government to pour more funds into the Golden State to offset these price increases.
But then the state pocketed most of those billions of dollars:
