Today I have worried about getting an auto insurance policy reinstated in time to avoid losing my registration and having to pay a reinstatement penalty, which seems to be a lost cause; about my step-daughter's finances, which are increasingly fraught; and about my wife's progressive memory loss, which contributed to both of my other worries.

Tonight I am worried about the upcoming Maduro trial. Why on earth did the Delta Force bring Mr. Maduro to jail in Brooklyn, thus setting up jurisdiction in the Southern District of New York? No matter the evidence, there is no way he will be convicted. It will take just one socialist juror to hang the jury, 12 to acquit, and the Big Apple's jury pool is tainted with a majority of Democratic Socialists. Imagine the headlines when Mr. Maduro (and his pleasant Mrs.) are acquitted, or their jury hangs.

Would it not have been better to bring him to a jail in Miami, New Orleans or Houston?

Just wondering...

Yeah, I thought they should have been very careful in picking the jurisdiction for Madaro.

Also, prayers for wisdom , peace and God's hand in your other concerns.

Maybe it doesn't matter because Trump is planning to give him the Juan Orlando Hernández treatment anyway. Who knows.

I join in wishes and prayers for you and yours.

That's the district where the indictment was filed, years ago, that was used as the basis for the Venezuela action.

It would make more sense to me to help the Venezuelan politicians who won the last election move into the offices they won, then give Maduro back to the Venezuelans to have a trial there.

Although I'm sure there are lots of reasons that make that unpractical or mistaken. I'm out of my depth here...

There may not be a trail. There might be a plea deal with a lot of confessions and a mansion on the beach in Cuba.
