This article
about the Trump attempted assassination contains this quote from the (failed) Secret Service director.

"The buck stops with me," Cheatle said, adding, "This is an event that should have never happened."

We’ve all heard about Truman’s famous slogan and sign. But of course, in the modern .gov there is no real responsibility. No one falls on their sword anymore. I first noticed this the day the feds burned down the Branch Davidian complex. At a press conference later that day, Attorney General Janet Reno answered a reporter’s question about responsibility strongly, stating she alone was responsible. I remember being really impressed that she would take such a stand. And then as time went on I realized that nothing was actually going to happen to her. It was the first time I was aware that in this new world, it was all about making the bold statement, not suffering consequences.

What are the odds that Director Cheatle suffers any consequences?

Except that it seems designed to have happened, Ms. Cheatle. It almost seems that it was thought impossible that Crooks could miss. And no, she will not be fired, much less resign. And none of the agents will be disciplined.

She makes "the buck stops with me" merely empty words.

They've been empty words (for government employees) for decades now.

I think she will resign after the election.

Recall how all Washington and the MSM gushed when Janet Reno took full responsibility for the mass murder at Waco. She did not resign. "Full responsibility" is consequence-free if you are high enough on the food chain.

I think that she will lose her job on Jan 20th, 2025 shortly after noon at the earliest. However, she might cravenly resign after the election in November.
