Democrats depend on our fear of the dark

Democrats claim that your success is not due to your hard work, innate skills, willingness to take risks, prioritizing work over play, acceptance of delayed gratification, and so on. No, you are successful only because of your “privilege”. You were born lucky. You didn’t build that. It takes a village. And so on.

That’s a tough sell, of course, because it doesn’t match with people’s lived experiences. And it gets tougher when Democrats start talking about their other policies, like environmentalism for example. So you’re NOT responsible for your own achievements, but you ARE responsible for the weather 500 years from now. When Democrats complain that they have “messaging problems,” I believe them.

Modern Democrats remind me of children who are afraid of the dark. They turn out the lights, and then work themselves into an absolute panic, desperate for some powerful adult to save them from the monsters that lurk just beyond their sight. You turn the lights on for them, and show them that there are in fact no monsters under their bed or in the closet. They are comforted, to a degree. Until you turn the lights out again. Then panic sets in. It sounds irrational, but we’ve all experienced this to one degree or another.

It’s understandable, of course, to fear the unknown. But Democrats appear to be intentionally closing their eyes to reality, so they can achieve panic. As if that is their goal. And, I suppose, if you have no over-riding philosophy other than the accumulation of power, then it is understandable to rely on panic. Never let a crisis go to waste, right? But what if there’s nothing to panic about? What if things are sort of ok, overall?

That’s when it’s time to turn out the lights. If we can’t fear things that we can see, then we will fear things that we can’t see, like microaggressions, global warming at some point in the future, “hate speech”, emotional violence, and so on.

This may seem juvenile to those of us to choose to keep our eyes open. But if your only source of power is fear, then this sort of intentional inducement of panic about what might possibly lurk in the dark might sort of make sense. If people are sufficiently afraid, they’ll let you do anything “to protect them”.

I guess.

But the problem with this, of course, is that you are relying on not just fools, but on those who intentionally make fools of themselves – that is your voting base. Are there enough of those people to win elections?

Well, no. At least, not until relatively recently. This is why Democrats have put so much effort into controlling our media and schools. In fact, this is now the primary function of our modern media and educational industries. To keep the lights out. To keep people panicked.

People are starting to figure out that the truth is a sworn enemy to the Democrat Party. So perhaps the pendulum is swinging back. Maybe. Perhaps there are less fools out there now than there were before. Perhaps they’ll start to vote based on what they see in the light, not on what they fear in the dark. Perhaps elections could start to reflect this phenomenon.

Or perhaps it’s too late. As George Orwell pointed out, “All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed, they must rely exclusively on force.”

I hope we’ve not yet reached that point.
