I am not following everything happening in Gaza but I am seeing some posts on X that are calling the conduct of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) into question:

I don't know the truth of the claims, but I am pretty sure Israelis and the IDF know that what they do now, for good or ill, affects the trajectory of events in Israel. I trust that as they are the ones whose future will be affected by the conduct of the war, they are incentivized to do that which over the long period works best for them. You don't get any better alignment of incentives to do this war correctly -- achieve your short terms objectives in the best manner to assure your long term objectives. If they get it wrong, they pay the price. Fair enough.

We are sitting a long way from there. And some of our people are engaging in outrageous behavior toward our citizens of Jewish heritage, based on what is going on in Gaza -- not here. Our incentive structure is not their incentive structure. We will not pay any price for how the IDF conducts the war, Israel will. Let them decide what works best for them.

What B.S. Any vicious close quarters infantry combat will result in innocent lives being lost. Read about the battle for Hue City in Feb. 1968. And the U.S. forces who won the battle against the NVA was not fighting for its survival like the IDF.

The fact that the IDF announced almost immediately that they had killed some hostages, apparently escaped from Hamas, by mistake gained a lot of trust of the IDF war dates; for me at least.

Edit: I don't know of any others engaged in a war of survival who would admit such errors on their part.

Atrocity? Outrageous? What claims. You mean like hitting a hospital and killing 500 innocents?

You mean like bringing down apartment buildings to destroy tunnels? You mean like flooding tunnels? What are the rumors?

What were the rules in the Hamas attack on October 7. None that I could see. On the small scale of doing police work there were no rules once the fight started until someone was handcuffed. I've been there. On the military side there have been 92 attacks against US forces in Iraq and Syria. There have been multiple attacks against ships in the Red Sea from Iranian proxy's. The Biden administration won't take the measures necessary to protect our own soldiers, sailors and marines.

The US has tried to micromanage Ukrainian strikes against Russian forces and now is trying to do the same to Israel. All this whining comes from the same crowd that does not believe you have the right to defend yourself from common criminals in the US.

There are no [F-REDACTED] rules, it is not an Olympic sport when you are fighting for your life.
