First, Wow! Yes, the polls were all wrong. They overstated Republican support. Republicans win in Florida by 2 percentage points. Republicans lose in Texas by over 10 percentage points. The flaky, nut case Lt. Governor of Fraud Central Minnesota gets rewarded with a trip to the Senate. We have to live with all those new senators for at least six years. All in all, wow.
I would like to say what everyone on Fox could not bring themselves to say: Ten years of Trump is two years too long. With term limits, the modern president has to leave the stage after eight years. Due to the Biden interruption, Trump hasn’t left the stage. He has become the obnoxious party guest who won’t leave.
No president can stay popular forever, even one that tries to be popular with everyone. Trump has never tried to be popular with everyone, and frankly, that is what got him elected in the first place. This is an adjective, not a criticism: Trump is a polarizer. He provokes strong reactions both pro and con.
Few, if any, are neutral towards him. Even the so-called Trump-neutrals are really not neutral; they are split internally. They love some parts of Trump and hate other parts of Trump.
There are times and places where polarizers are necessary and successful. But such times never last for ten years. Unfortunately for polarizers, over time the lovers grow tired and switch toward haterdom. Even Trump supporters admit that Trump is exhausting. He is exhausting. I pity his staff.
Trump, like most polarizers, needlessly provokes. He does it for sport. He jokes about running for a third term. All Ricochet readers know it is a joke—all MSNOW viewers are told he is serious. Trump invited voters to make the midterms a referendum on Trump. They accepted the invitation.

P.S.: I remain optimistic about 2028. Unless, of course, Trump somehow turns ‘28 into another Trump report card.
My optimism is limited to the presidency. It is hard to unseat incumbents in Congress. (Unless an unpopular president chooses to nationalize all the local races.)
P.P.S.: FWIW, Trump has been an excellent president. His list of accomplishments is long and substantial.

Welcome to Europe where people vote in the demise of their own country. Trump has done nothing to cause this reaction. The march through the institutions is over. The commies won again.

I cannot believe Ashley Hinson and Susan Collins got beat.
Talarico is a fruit.
The new Minnesota Senator is a lying fruit.

"Even the so-called Trump-neutrals are really not neutral, they are split internally. They love some parts of Trump and hate other parts of Trump." True, although even the Trump neutrals are accused of TDS.

If he had followed through in Iran and took control of the strait of Hormuz, maybe gas prices would be lower and who knows?
