Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
If you were constantly told by a parent, by a teacher, by an authority figure that you were a mistake, that you were born in the wrong body, that God or the universe or some external force messed up and put a woman’s spirit, soul, feelings, desires, urges into your male body or a male’s spirit, soul, feelings, desires, urges into a female body – and there was no remedy for it, no way to correct it, even with drugs or physical mutilation; you simply had to live with being a mistake of nature for the rest of your life – wouldn’t you naturally feel wronged? Wouldn’t anger fester within you? Wouldn’t you want to lash out at anything resembling a normal life? To children and adults born in the correct bodies? To lash out at God and those who worship him for the cosmic, cruel joke that He has played upon you?
As the horrific news of the shooting in Minneapolis played out this morning, it didn’t take long for those on the left side of the political spectrum to immediately blame the firearms used in the murders of the two children and the wounding of several others at the Annunciation Catholic School. And as more details emerged about the shooter, who apparently took his own life, it appears that he may have been another angry transgender young man who felt he was really a woman trapped in a man’s body.
Robert Westman, who wanted to be referred to as Robin, as other transgenders have been, was bent on violence and murder. If teachers and other authority figures in his life encouraged the lie that he was born in the wrong body, they should come forward and admit what they did to further confuse this killer, and they should seek forgiveness from the parents of the deceased, from the Annunciation Catholic parish community and the Almighty immediately.
Those who promote transgenderism, especially in schools, need to be stopped, need to be confronted, need to lose their jobs. They need to take responsibility for helping to create confusion in young people who eventually become angry and murder innocents.
Were there any red flags about Westman prior to this horrific act? A quick YouTube search yielded a music video by a Robin Westman entitled “The School Shooter,” posted a year ago in July 2024. Perhaps it’s not the same Robin Westman, perhaps it's a coincidence…or not.

Another tragedy that should never have happened. I'm so glad that some of us are determined to shed a light on this horrific practice.

One of my biggest regrets about my career as a school psychologist is that I did not stand strong enough against the trend for middle school and high school counselors to encourage transgenderism. It was the shiny new thing and I was looked at as a dinosaur for telling anyone who would listen that it was wrong, it was a mistake to promote this, and that we needed to find and treat the underlying mental illness, not just paper it over with silly, and dangerous, nonsense about the other within.
Granted, I didn't have much time, as it was gaining steam just a couple of years before I retired, but I truly wish I had been courageous enough to have had a louder voice.

What doesn't help is for news organizations like the New York Post to refer to this male killer as "she". By doing so, they continue to encourage this mental illness.

This whole transgender thing is a perverted medical experiment that no one really understands. While this has been a fringe phenomena ever since Christine Jorgensen got off the boat from Denmark in 1952, the pioneers of this stuff were always already adults and for the most part wanted no public adulation. Pumping kids with cross hormones during puberty (or worse, blocking puberty) and then throwing them into a highly sexualized and politicized online world is something one would expect out of Josef Mengele's twisted mind, not an American pediatrician.

I think some people really suffer with it, but before it became a Democrat contagion, it was literally .42% of the population. I can't see why you would cut or take heavy duty pills until your brain is fully developed.
